Stamp, Ink, Paper #114 - Winter Wonder Christmas

Image
Hi Everyone, Welcome to our sketch challenge for this week at Stamp, Ink, Paper ! This looked like a fun sketch that I could do lots with.  Ahh so many options, but in the end I decided to use one of my new sets for a Christmas card called Snowflake Sentiments which I've combined with the Winter Wonder Embossing Folder.   I took a slightly different take on the sketch. The cardstock is Pool Party, Whisper White and Silver Foil. Can't wait to see what you make with this week's sketch.  For more inspiration please see what the other Design Team members have for you at Stamp, Ink, Paper .  Have a great day. Carolyn xx

Team Day Christmas Card Swaps

Image
Hi Everyone, Last weekend I had a very enjoyable Saturday attending our Paper Angels Team training in Brisbane. This was an opportunity to meet up with other demonstrators and get hands on with some new products, share information and swap cards. I must say it was very well organised by Bec Ross and Anna Wheaton and what a fabulous group of ladies we have in the Paper Angels.  It was nice to put faces to names that I'd only seen on FB before. Getting on to the swaps, these are what I made using the Eastern Medallion framelits and new paper Merry Music Specialty dsp. Below was my works in progress Once I finally decided what I was making for my swaps (after changing my mind 3 times) it only took me a day to complete them.  I used cardstock of Very Vanilly, Real Red and Garden Green.  I think the layering of the Medallion flowers like this gives them the look of a Poinsettia. I also used some Gold thread underneath the flower and I used Teeny Ti...

Paper Craft Crew 257 - Chalkboard Adventure

Image
Hi Everyone, Welcome to this week's challenge at the Paper Craft Crew .  Here's our theme for this week. I would not typically make a card to celebrate back to school (like the US), as our school year starts in January.   However I made a card anyways creating a chalkboard, but I've actually put a birthday sentiment on the inside, so that I will be able to use this card. The stamp set I've chosen the sentiment from is called Balloon Adventures.  The Paper on the board is from the stack called Wood Textures and the cardstock used is Soft Suede and Basic Black, with a little Whisper White for the inside. The chalkboard technique was used for this card, stamping and heat embossing with Versamark and White embossing powder respectively. Soft Suede ink was used on the Whisper White panel inside for the Birthday sentiment. Thanks so much for joining us this week.  I hope you find lots of inspiration from our talented team a...

Stamp, Ink, Paper #113 - Easel card with Chalkboard

Image
Hi Everyone, Welcome to our "Back to School" themed challenge this week at Stamp, Ink, Paper. Here's my Easel card I didn't have any stamps for a "Back to School" theme but it was suggested that I do something with a chalkboard technique. The sentiment "Enjoy Today" comes from the Climbing Orchid stamp set.  The Dsp is from the Cupcakes & Carousels stack from the last Occasions catalogue.  Cardstock is Basic Black, Pool Party and Whisper White.  This is a closeup of the front. The pic on the side shows the side view of how the Easel card sits. Thanks so much for joining us at Stamp, Ink, Paper .  Can't wait to see your creation. Have a great day. Carolyn xx

Sharon's 60th Birthday

Image
Hi Everyone, This is definitely the year for celebrating Big Birthdays in my circle.  This one was made for a friend using the Orchid  Bundle. I've also used the large number dies, Flourish Framelits and Layered Leaves embossing folder. The cardstock I've used is Calypso Coral, Old Olive, Crumb Cake and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer. I've used another smaller orchid on the card base to create the anchor to stand up the easel front of the card and I used a retired stamp set for the Happy Birthday greeting on the inside called Well Scripted. These pics show the inside of the card. The lovely Sharon loved her card and by all accounts, had a wonderful Birthday week of celebrations.  She certainly deserved them. Thanks so much for stopping  by today. See you next time. Carolyn  xx

Paper Craft Crew 256 - Coffee Break Father's Day Card

Image
Hi Everyone, Welcome to this week's sketch challenge at the Paper Craft Crew Here's my card using the Coffee Break Suite.  The cardstock is Crumb Cake and Pear Pizzazz.  I've used the Stitched shape framelits to cut the circle from the Coffee dsp and the Coffee Cup framelits to cut out the little cup. The Father's Day greeting comes from the stamp set Guy Greetings and is stamped in Early Espresso ink.  The coffee beans are also stamped in the same ink. Thanks so much for joining us this week for our sketch challenge at the Paper Craft Crew Have a great day, Carolyn xx

Stamp, Ink Paper #111 - Magical Mermaid Cards

Image
Hi Everyone, Welcome to our Beach themed challenge this week at Stamp, Ink, Paper Here's the card I created with a new set I'm playing with called Magical Mermaid.  The Beach theme was perfect timing for me for my next card class as this is one of the stamps I want to feature so I've made a few cards.  This is the one I posting for the challenge. The cardstock I've used is Pool Party, Tranquil Tide, Bermuda Bay, Lemon Lime Twist and Whisper White.  I've used a number of different framelit sets including Circles, Botantical Builder and Flourish Framelits.  The Mermaid has been coloured with Watercolor pencils and fussy cut.  I added some Wink of Stella to add magical shimmer to parts of the image.  She sparkles IRL but it was hard to capture through the camera. The greeting has been cut with the Circle framelits. The tail is particularly shimmery, but its hard to tell in the photos. This was my second card.  I photograph...

Another 50th Birthday Card

Image
Hi Everyone, I wanted to quickly share another 50th Birthday card that I've made.  I've had a couple to make in the recently and this one was a dear Demonstrator friend who also makes her own cards.  Her name is Debbie and she's awesome, so I wanted to create something golden for her. This does seem to be the year for Big No. Special cards among my friends. The base of this one was Fresh Fig combined with that gorgeous dsp from the Eastern pack, combined with Very Vanilla, the Eastern Medallions and Gold foil. I particularly like making easel style cards. Thanks for looking and have a great day. Carolyn xx

Paper Craft Crew 254 - BBQ Apron Card

Image
Hi Everyone, Welcome to this week's challenge at the Paper Craft Crew I thought about this challenge for far too long before committing to a design.  In the end, I made a Apron which had been on my to do list for a while since the baking stamp set came out.  I hope you like it. I've used some retired Dsp on this card called Domestic Goddess for the stripe on the apron pocket and the spatula which was fussy cut.  The background of the card is paper from the Serene Scenery paper stack and the greeting comes from a new stamp set called Colorful Seasons.   Cardstock is Crumb Cake and Basic Black.  I added some retired ribbon to the neck of the apron. I think its a fun card.  I hope you aren't as stumped as I originally was and you come up with something fun as well. Can't wait to see what you create this week for the Paper Craft Crew challenge.  Have a great day. Carolyn xx
