Birthday card for Emily

Hi Everyone,

One of my daughter's friends has a party this weekend, so I was requested to make her a special card.  This is what I've come up with using the Flip Card framelits. I'm using some retired paper called Nursery Nest on my card.  They are pretty awkward to photograph, but here goes.

Closeup of this greeting on the Label.  It's been stamped in multiple inks and layered up.

The greeting used on the front flip is from a set called Perfect Pennants.  Now next I'll show you the inside with the extra panel that I've created here folded out.

I added the strip of white card for a smooth base to write a personal birthday message.
Next photo is showing the Label flip side of the card.

I used the Memorable Moments set to stamp the number 13 for her Birthday and greeting from the set called Petite Pairs.

I also used some of the extra patterned paper from this pack to decorate a plain envelope.  The birdie images here are just too big for the card.

New Card design featuring Scallop Tag Topper Punch

Hi Everyone,

I've been playing around with a new card design from a neat idea I've seen recently using the Scallop Tag Topper Punch.  Pretty cool, I think.  Check them out.

I've used Watercolour Wonder designer paper on both cards with Whisper White cardstock and in addition, Island Indigo on card one with Label Love and Papillon Potpourri butterfly and Hearts a Flutter & Just Sayin' stamp sets with the second card.

Here they both are:-

As a bit more of an explanation I've just taken some more photos of how this is done.  Hope that helps you to understand how this is created.

Slide your card in the punch all the way, past the guide, then punch and trim off the excess.

Enjoy your day.

Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge #78 Plus Sale-a-bration

Hello Everyone,

It's Wednesday today which means time again for the Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge.

Here is today's sketch

I'm using the new Hardwood Background stamp on my card combined with the Open Sea stamp set, Deco Label Framelits and 2 1/2" circle punch with Bitty Banners for the greeting from the Teeny Tiny sentiments stamp set.

Cardstock used is Midnight Muse, Sahara Sand and Whisper White.  Have a closer look and the image below.  I actually created a frame by punching a circle from the Midnight Muse cardstock, then cutting the Deco Label framelit (2nd largest size) around it and raising it on foam.  The stamped image is sitting in the circle window.

So what do you think of my efforts today.  This is a card that I think would be suitable for most men, providing they don't get Sea sick, LOL and would also make a great Father's Day card just by changing the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by today and make sure you check out what the other talent…

Oh Happy Day - Just Add Ink Challenge #199

Hello Everyone,

Happy Tuesday.  Why, you ask is it Happy Tuesday?  Well to be precise it's actually Back to School Tuesday, the first day of the school year for my girls, so I bet there are a lot of Happy Mums enjoying their day today, and getting back into the morning routine.  I'll share a picture of them in their High School Uniforms at the bottom of my post.  It's my Baby Girl's first day of High school today.

This week there is a sketch challenge over at Just Add Ink that I was keen to play with.  Here is the sketch below.

I wanted to use some of my new products on this card, so have decided on Starburst Sayings stamp set with the matching framelits teamed with Sale-a-bration papers and some of my favourite butterflies from the Papillon Potpourri stamp set.

I love the pretty pastels in this Sweet Sorbet paper so have used coordinating Inks and cardstock to match.  The Base card is Crisp Cantaloupe with Whisper White, Pistachio Pudding and Pool Party.  Here is a cl…

Live Happy Swaps

Hello Everyone,

How have you been this long weekend here in Oz?

Its been a wonderful day here today, was a little cooler with the strong breeze overnight and light showers today.  That really helped cool things off here and allowed me to work inside and get my swaps finished ready to mail off tomorrow.

These cards are for a Sale-a-bration based swap and are products that can be earned for free with your $90 purchase available from tomorrow.

Here is the card

I've used cardstock of Baked Brown Sugar, Whisper White and Pistachio Pudding with the You're Lovely stamp set and Sweet Sorbet designer pack of papers from SAB.  I've also used Deco Label framelits, Beautiful Wings butterfly and Lacy Brocade embossing folder on the brown Label for some texture.  This is a closeup of the labels in the centre.

Here's all my swaps lined up, phew.  Finally finished.

Have a great day.

Freshly Made Sketches #120

Hello Everyone,

Happy Australia Day.  Well it is  Downunder today.

I'm participating in the sketch challenge this week at Freshly Made Sketches with the sketch below.

Today the Stamp Set Starburst Sayings with the matching framelits features as the shape on my card and the Paper Pack called Watercolour Wonder is used for the banner strip.  My Cardstock is Calypso Coral, Crisp Cantaloupe and Whister White, with an added white paper doily.

My layer of Crisp Cantaloupe card has been embossed with the SAB embossing folder called Decorative Dots which I think goes nicely with the spots on the paper.  Here is a closeup.

As an added bonus, I am presently making team swaps, so I decided this sketch would be great for the design and I made another 9 of these cards, pictured below.

Thanks so much for calling in today, and don't forget to leave me a little blog love.  I really want to know what you think.

Again, have a fantastic (Australia) day.

Mum's Birthday Card

Hello Everyone,

Tomorrow is my Mum's birthday and what a day it will be.  See she shares her birthday with Australia Day so always gets a holiday on her Birthday.  This year Australia day actually falls on the weekend, Sunday so as an added bonus we get a holiday on Monday.  Long weekend here we come.

This is the card I've made which uses quite a few new products.

The stamps are Hardwood Background, Peaceful Petals, Papillon Potpourri and Petite Pairs for the Greeting.  The patterned paper is from the Watercolour Wonder pack and I've also used the new Scallop Tag topper punch on this card.  The Inks are Island Indigo, Basic Gray and Gumball Green and the cardstock is also Island Indigo, with Whisper White and Smoky Slate.

I'm not too concerned about showing this card a little early, as my Mum doesn't use a computer and others in the family are unlikely to spoil the surprise.  We are actually going to visit on her birthday.  Here is a closer look.

Hope you are enjoy…

Happy Birthday to You

Hi Stampers,

How has your Friday been?

I've been home with the girls as school holidays are nearing an end, listening to some music, watching the tennis when it came on and also creating.  It's wonderful to have the day home with no particular plans in order to catch up on some craft.  I'm working on swaps, but I also made the following card with some of the new products.

This large Birthday greeting comes from a stamp set called Another Great Year.  I've teamed it with the Fresh Prints paper stack, You're Lovely SAB stamp set and Banner punch with cardstock of Coastal Cabana and Whisper White.

I've done some paper piecing here with the banners in the greeting on the Happy and To You, stamping them an extra time on Patterned Fresh Prints dotty paper and cutting them out and I've also done some Fussy Cutting with the little flowers on the top right hand corner from You're Lovely set.

Tomorrow we have plans to go to the Eumundi markets early and it's …

You Make Me Happy

Hello Everyone,

How is your Thursday.  I had a pretty stressful day yesterday, but I'm feeling better today and I wanted to share this card I made last week.  I haven't been able to create myself for the last couple of days, so I saved this one for now.

Yes, some new products here again.  The Greeting is from the Perfect Pennants stamp set which has matching Banner Framelits available in our Occasions Catalogue which starts very soon.

I've also combined the Hexagon Hive Thinlits on the background of this card plus the Six-sided sampler stamp set and Hexagon punch.  Of course this card would not be complete without some little butterflies from the Beautiful Wings embosslits die.

This picture shows a closeup of the banner on the top of the card from Perfect Pennants set.

Love you comes from the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set.  The Cardstock used is Basic Black, Pool Party, Calypso Coral and Whisper White with the patterned background paper from the Sale-a-bration pack called…

Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge #77

Hello Everyone,

Yes, Wednesday once again means its time for our challenge at The Paper Craft Crew.

I've decided to turn this sketch vertically, and not only that, but turn it into an Easel Card.  It's been a while since I've made an Easel card and I was starting to get withdrawals, lol.  Here's my card using a combination of Framelits, Sale-a-bration Embossing folder and Fresh Prints paper stack.

Here is a closer look at the card front, which is based on the sketch.

And this photograph shows the base and another heart here which is the anchor to stand up my easel.

My cardstock is Whisper White, Pool Party, Crumb Cake and Raspberry Ripple.  Below is the side view to show you how the Easel card sits.

I want to thank you for coming by today.  We hope that you will visit the Paper Craft Crew site and submit a card of your own for this challenge as there are some fantastic examples from the Design Team this week for your inspiration.

Have a great day.

One Layer Valentine for the Paper Players Challenge #179

Hello Everyone,

How are you today on this Happy Tuesday.

This weeks challenge at the Paper Players is to create a Single layer Valentine's Card.

The card I've created is Whisper White and uses some of the new gold washi tape and a Chalk Talk Tag.  The accents are created with Raspberry Ripple, Coastal Cabana and Gold Foil Card.  Here is my card.

Something I rarely do is stamp directly onto my card base, so I do find a One-Layer card quite a challenge as I'm usually all for adding layers.  I used Gorgeous Grunge stamp set with Coastal Cabana Ink for those little splashes and added more touches of Coastal Cabana with the heart punch and tiny butterfly from the Beautiful Wings embosslits.  The Raspberry Ripple tag from the Chalk talk set was stamped with Whisper White Ink and the Espressions Thinlits "Love" was cut from the Gold Foil.

The Gold Washi is called Watercolour Wonder Washi and is available in the new Occasions catalogue available from 28th January.
