Happy New Year

Image
Hello Everyone, As the New Year approaches I wanted to wish all of you a very prosperous one.  Hope to catch up with you all again in 2014.  I want to thank you all for your support over the past twelve months, as I count many of you out there as close friends and I love hearing from each and every one of you whether through here or on my FB page. I'm hoping 2014 will be a great year.  Here's a card I've made to celebrate the New Year.  Happy 2014 people. It's another shaped Easel Card based on the Top Notes die shape and Hearts a Flutter Framelits to create the banner across the front.  2014 is stamped with the Memorable moments stamp set onto a background stamped with Positively Chevron background stamp then cut out with the framelits.  Here is a look at the whole card. The paper is from the stack called Print Poetry and the Cardstock used is Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple, Summer Starfruit and Very Vanilla.  The numbers were stamped with Primrose Petal

Love You

Image
Hello Everyone, How's Monday treating you?  Mine's pretty busy. We have relatives visiting and another friend here today.  Don't you love this time of year, when you have time to catch up during the holiday break with family and friends you don't see that often. Because I've had to make a mad dash down to the shopping centre to pick some rellies up this afternoon who missed their connecting bus, I've had to make a really quick card. This can be a Valentine's card and I went with simple elegance. My Card is Basic Black which has been embossed with the Beautifully Baroque Embossing folder, then I've added a banner of Modern Medley patterned paper and a layered heart cut with Framelits Hearts a Flutter and Hearts Collection from Silver Glimmer Card and Raspberry Ripple respectively.  The Raspberry heart has been embossed with the Square lattice embossing folder and I've added the Greeting "Love You" from the Itty Bitty Banners sta

Coffee Time

Image
Hello Everyone, Well it's been a busy Sunday for us catching up with lots of relatives on my husband's side of the family who gathered at Noosaville today.  We met up with them after an early start to get eldest daughter to work, then we had some work of our own to do, before meeting up with the others and having Fish & Chips for lunch.  Rather a warm day today - registering 37 degrees c and 45 in our shed, but there was a lovely sea breeze at the river. This is a card I've made today for something a bit different, and a change from butterflies LOL, using stamp set Perfect Blend.  Many of you will already know I'm a Coffee Addict, ahh sorry lover and if you want to be friends with me, helps if u are one as well. The base of my card is Sahara Sand card with Coastal Cabana, Basic Gray and Confetti White cardstock.  The patterned paper is from the pack Eastern Elegance, one of my faves.  My stamped and paper pieced cup sits on a frame cut with the Deco Label

A Glittery Butterfly Easel Card

Image
Hello Everyone, How are you this Saturday.  We've just had afternoon tea here with some relatives that aren't over this way very often and I made some Pikelets for them (photo at the end of this post). It's been pretty warm here once again.  I'd like to know what happened to that rain that was predicted.  That storm totally missed us last night and the shower wasn't even to register in the rain gauge. Here's my card today, another Easel card shaped this time, with the Deco Label Framelits. The butterfly used is from an older set called Strength and Hope.  It's a Butterfly image I've had stamped for quite a while sitting in my box of bits just waiting for a home to land on.  Stamped with Whisper White ink and given the Frosty Glitter treatment, just like my shoe used yesterday. I've used cardstock of Whisper White, Raspberry Ripple and Silver Glimmer for today's card.  The Deco Label framelits were used to cut the card and you can

A Red Shoe

Hello Everyone, I'm incorporating another of my favourite things in today's card for you, Shoes.  I've created an Easel Card today with a base of Soft Sky Card, Confetti White and Raspberry Ripple. My friend Marian actually gave me this stamp set called Fabulous You and I love it.  Shoes make me very happy, LOL! I've used the Window and Circle Collection Framelits and stamped my circle with the script background stamp called En Francais.  My shoe has been stamped with White Craft Ink and embossed with my Frosty Glitter mix.  On the bottom of my card I've used Layered Labels stamp with matching framelits, Label Love Greeting and embossed the Raspberry Ripple card with the Pretty Prints embossing folder. I've also punched a border from Silver Glimmer placed under the edge of the Raspberry card.  Finally, here is the side view of my Easel Card, so you can see how it's assembled. Thanks for stopping by today.  Love hearing from you, so don

Best Friend Butterfly Grunge for Boxing Day

Image
Hello Everyone, Hope you all had a Happy Christmas.  I've enjoyed a relaxing Boxing Day with the family today.  No sales for me, I can't stand those crowds rushing in for a bargain.  I'd rather do my shopping another day.  Other than a quick dash for more groceries, because of visitors coming today, tomorrow and the next day, I've been home. This is a card I've created (rather quickly) this afternoon featuring  Gorgeous Grunge Stamp set, Label Love and Beautiful Wings butterflies.  The Cardstock is Coastal Cabana, Whisper White and Melon Mambo.   As well I've used Elegant Eggplant, Pool Party, Melon Mambo and Coastal Cabana Inks. Here is a closeup of the greeting which features Label Love stamp set and Artisan Label punch. Happy Boxing Day, people.

Dare to Dream

Image
Hello from Downunder, It's Christmas Eve here and although I should be posting something Christmassy, that's not what sort of card I have made below today.  So here is a photo of our Christmas tree.  We will be in the lounge room later tonight exchanging gifts with a few local family members after a BBQ here and then heading to Caloundra in the morning after Santa's been, to see my family and have Christmas Lunch at the Exchange Hotel.  My sisters are already staying at Caloundra on a holiday break for a couple of weeks, up from Brisbane. This is another card I've made using the Swallowtail stamp with Illuminate ink, again on Elegant Eggplant card, but this time its a square on a Pistachio Pudding base.  I'm also using the Simply Pressed clay flower and little leaves for my card.  The Sentiment "Dare to Dream" comes from the set Thoughts of You.  I'm dreaming of great things to come in 2014. There's a lot of people I'm thinkin

Last Minute Gift Cards - JAI 196

Hi Everyone, How's your lead up to Christmas going.  Busy, busy for me.  Finished the last of my Christmas shopping yesterday now only have to worry about the food.  On final count I needed just a couple more quick cards.  I made these over the weekend. Here they are, using up some of last years Christmas Paper, Letters to Santa and the current Christmas Hostess set Warmth & Wonder.  As these are Christmas they can double as an entry into the themed challenge at Just Add Ink . I've had the images used on these cards laying on my desk for the last few weeks, actually, so it feels good to use up some more scraps. The cardstock is Crumb Cake, Whisper White and Cherry Cobbler with the image stamped in Early Espresso.  Here they are together. Christmas is not too far away now, hey.  Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #117

Image
Hello Everyone, I'm playing in another sketch challenge today at Freshly Made Sketches The challenge is running a little longer to allow for Christmas, so that gives me time, LOL! Today I wanted to use my Swallowtail stamp on the background of my card.  It's stamped in Illuminate ink which gives a subtle glimmer effect on the dark card.       The cardstock used is Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White, Elegant Eggplant and Silver Glimmer.  The Sentiment "Imagine" comes from the stamp set Loving Thoughts and I've added a tiny butterfly to the panel from the Beautiful Wings die as well as a row of  Basic Jewels.  The larges Banner under the greeting was cut with the Hearts a Flutter framelits and embossed with the Snowflake border EF.  The other banners were cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits. Thanks so much for stopping by today to see my card.  I hope you will leave some comments.  See you soon.

Another Gift Box

Image
Hello Everyone, We went to a family celebration today which doubles as Christmas party every year for my Mum's side of the family and also my Grandma's birthday up in the Hills at Witta near Maleny.  I'll share a few photos at the end of my post for you. On the way we dropped of a little pressie to some old friends of ours and that's what I'm sharing today.  It's another gift box filled with some Honey Roasted Cashews which I decorated to go with one of my special cards I gave them, that lights up with the mini battery candle.  These were on an earlier post when I made them Mid year.   I've used some retired Jolly Holiday paper around the box this time and decorated the top with a Silver Glimmer Snowflake which has been layered up with dimentionals cut with last years Snow Flurry Bigz die.  The paper is Cherry Cobbler colour which goes with the card, pictured below.   The Easel card has  a vellum stamped window to which the

Grungy Birthday

Image
Hello Everyone, How are you this Friday?  It's been pretty warm here. Today I decided to make a card with a total break away from the butterflies I've been using lately, just for a change.  This card uses the Gorgeous Grunge and Chalk talk stamp sets with some circles cut with the Circle Framelits and 1 inch circle punch plus the Mini Star punch for more of an abstract design rather than my previously elegant butterfly cards. The cardstock used is Whisper White, Smoky Slate, Pool Party Pistachio Pudding and Basic Black with some Champagne Shimmer for the starts.  The greeting comes from the Chalk Talk set.  Here is a closer look. I had these rings already laying on my desk, leftover from other projects and wanted to make use of them.  Thanks for popping in to see today's card.  As I mentioned, it has been pretty hot here.  I wanted to share with you a site we see in our backyard quite often.  These kangaroos were quite close the afternoon and were taking it eas
