Create with Connie and Mary Sketch Challenge 251
Hello Everyone,
Happy Mother's Day to all the other Mums / Moms out there. I had a nice day today, but my girls and I have been feeling a little under the weather with colds. Had a great day at the Fusion Festival in town, with the girls performing, youngest with the Primary School Band and eldest with the High School Vocal Ensemble. It was hot in the morning, but the weather changed with rain coming and we got soaked leaving the event.
I've decided to join in with the sketch challenge this week at Create with Connie and Mary
Flowers were coloured with Markers and Blender Pens and for the Faux Mother of Pearl technique I used Champagne Mist Shimmer paint with Baja Breeze brayered over the top. My cardstock is Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze, Basic Gray and Rose Red.
It's difficult to show the full effect of the Faux Mother of Pearl on camera, but hopefully you get the idea. The background Baja Breeze panel was embossed with the Fancy Fan Embossing folder.
Thanks so much for stopping in to have a look. I really appreciate it. Below is the card my youngest daughter made for me at school.
Have a great day.

to something different if you want. I'm happy to take on any sketch challenge and change it slightly, so here we go. I am using Artistic Etchings for my card this week, combined with Elements of Style. Both of these sets are retiring. I've used Faux Mother of Pearl technique on my image panel and I've stamped a couple of extra flowers, coloured and cut them and raised them on dimentionals.

Oh wow, Carolyn! This is beautiful. I love the technique you used - I do see the shimmer. And I love the way you added the flowers in the foreground and the Eiffel Tower in the background - I feel like I am peeking through someone's garden flowers. So glad you joined us this week at Create with Connie and Mary!
