Just Add Ink #191

Image
Hello Everyone, Welcome to the challenge for   Just Add Ink this week.  Its a sketch challenge by Delys with this layout below. I've used a stamp set called Friendship Preserves to create a Thank you card.  This one is a little novel, saying Thanks a Bunch and features some grapes within the artwork.  Quite cute I think.  I've cut the image out with the Window Framelits and layered it onto the next size and I have a paper doily background here for the sketch.   The cardstock used is Raspberry Ripple, Concord Crush (retired) and Old Olive.  I spent a bit of time colouring rubber with markers before stamping to achieve the multi coloured image here and I've embossed the Old Olive background with the Lacy Brocade embossing folder.  The card was finished the some of the Raspberry Ripple ribbon. Thanks so much for calling in to see my card.  Have a wonderful Sunday.

Celebrate - Birthday Card for Genie

Image
Hello Everyone, Just spent the afternoon in Nambour for the girls dance rehearsals for their Annual Danceform concert held in the Civic Centre.  It was great that I had my blogpost prepared in advance so I could just enjoy the afternoon catching up with friends and watching the storm roll in.  Luckily I was in undercover parking today, because there was actually hail in it. I finally did decide which of my recent cards created would actually be for my Sister, Genie.  I wanted something a little different & quirky.  She is not an over the top florally person so I stuck with some personal faves of my own, Hex's and Butterflys combined with a grungy background.  My grunge is different this time, because I've used a dark base of Rich Razzleberry and stamped with Razzleberry, Whisper White and Illuminate ink onto it.  I also pulled out of Retirement my greeting stamps called Wonderful Words where this large "Celebrate" comes from. The Hex's on the ...

Betsy's Blossoms (again) with Butterflies

Image
Hi Everyone, What, are you sick of Betsy already?  No, can't be.  I actually pulled out this set having not used it in quite a while, wiped the dust from the case and decided it was time to put ink to rubber and use it in the JAI masking challenge.  While I was doing the masking background for that challenge, I made a second one to play with, and this time have combined it with more butterflies from the Papillon Potpourri stamp set and matching Butterfly punches. Well who'd have thought, blossoms and butterflies, thats sheer genius LOL! Enough of my waffling, here is my card today. I negative mask was created using the Deco Label Framelits and I used this to sponge Pear Pizzazz ink onto the white background.  The base of my card is Coastal Cabana and the smaller blue butterflies are Tempting Turquoise.  The leaves are stamped in Garden Green ink and the Blossoms in Summer Starfruit. I have a birthday theme happening with my latest cards as I was tr...

Today's Card and photo highlights of the Instrumental Music Showcase

Image
Hello Everyone, You may remember the other day, I dusted off Betsy, a stamp set I hadn't used in a long time for the JAI challenge.  Well I made more than one card with it and this time instead of using the blossoms in all their glory, I just used the sweet little birdie for today's card in soft colours.  I've also combined it with the Chalk Talk stamp set and matching framelits and punched some leaves with the Bird Builder punch.  Here it is. I've also used the Itty Bitty Banners for the birthday greeting here.  Cardstock is Pool Party, Whisper White and Smoky Slate.   Sweet card, am I right?  Well I think so.  The patterned paper is from the Winter Frost specialty pack and the White background here was embossed with the Fancy Fan embossing folder.    Have a closer look at that tag on the card. So now that my business at hand is attended to, thought you might like to see another talented member of our family.  This...

Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge #67

Image
Hello from Downunder, First of all today I want to say Happy Birthday to my youngest Sister Genie (short for Genevieve) who lives in Brisbane and wish her a wonderful and fabulous day.  I'm not sharing her Birthday Card just yet, because she hasn't received it.  Like me, it's actually running late, LOL!. Here is this week's sketch challenge from the Paper Craft Crew which must mean, yes, you are right, it is Wednesday today! What do you make of this sketch.  I love it, don't mind a square card at all, and with my new Envelope Punch Board it is also such a breeze to make an envelope to fit.  I've decided to use the Hostess set called Warmth and Wonder today for a Christmas Card using some Eastern Elegance designer series paper.  Make sure you check out what all the talented designers have made for your inspiration this week. The cardstock used is Coastal Cabana (for the base), Basic Black, Whisper White and Bermuda Bay. I've used the Mosai...

Betsy's Blossoms makes a comeback for JAI#190

Image
Hello All, Ah, Tuesday.  So glad you are here.  I quite like Tuesdays.  Good things happen on Tuesdays.  Last week it was the Melbourne cup, and this week after I went walking with my friend Sharon I also got my car back in working order all fixed after yesterday's breakdown.  Doesn't take much to improve my mood, LOL! While I was playing with some masking techniques for the Just Add Ink masking challenge I also pulled out a very neglected stamp set called Betsy's Blossoms.  I created a shaped Mask with the Deco Label Framelit for this card and sponged inside it with Pear Pizzazz ink and stamped some leaves from Betsy's stamp set in Garden Green ink for this card.  So what do you think of this card as I've decided to enter again? The base of the Card is Midnight Muse and I've used the same ink on the greeting from Perfectly Penned set, the Bird from Betsy's and one of the Papillon Potpourri Butterflies.  I've stamped the Blossom and o...

JAI #190 - Just Add Masking

Image
Hello Everyone, How are we all this Monday? Mine turned a little pear shaped today.  Breaking down while driving the girls to school, in the busy morning traffic on a bridge with no passing lane is not my idea of a fun start to the day.  I had to be pushed off the bridge and then waited for a Tow Truck to the local RACQ office, which in reality is just around the corner, a very short walk, but I needed to stay with the vehicle and call my Father in Law in to take the girls to school.  For the mechanical minded the RACQ think it's an electronic fault, a Crank Angle Sensor.  Well that went in one ear and out the other without any comprehension from me, so I had him write it down, so that I could share that little bit of news. LOL! For today's card I'm playing along with the Just Add Ink Masking challenge .  I wasn't sure what I was going to do with this card, but my friend Justin had a good idea of sponging a masked area, so I decided to run with that as we...
