Masculine Butterfly Basics Birthday Card

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to make a more masculine card today as I never seem to have enough of those handy when I need one and, I was also challenged by a friend (Kate, thank you) to add butterflies to a male card.   How did I do?

I feel that I've nailed it, but my girls weren't so sure.  They still think this card could be feminine.  The stamp sets used are Butterfly Basics and Gorgeous Grunge and I've also used the Woodgrain embossing folder, Dotted Ribbon Border punch and Beautiful Wings embosslits.

The cardstock I've used is Sahara Sand and Early Espresso with a little Very Vanilla on the inside of the card.

The card front has been cut a little shorter than the back so the woodgrain embossing panel shows.  The inks I've used are Sahara Sand, Pear Pizzazz, Mossy Meadow and Early Espresso.

I hope you will leave me some feedback on this card.  Is it masculine?  Have a great day.

  1. Lovely card! Like your color choices and design. I think a man would like this card but I'd like receiving it as well!

    1. Thanks Linda, yes made with the intention of being suitable for a man, but I know women who also favour the neutrals and would like this card.

    1. Thanks Kathiern, I like to start with a neutral colour base when designing cards with nature, particularly for a male.
