Swallowtail Birthday

Image
Hello Everyone, Happy Monday.  Aren't you all happy on the first working day of the week?  Is it just me then.  I'm happy I got to see some fun people at Badminton this morning, even though I can't play, and I'm happy I got to take my daughter shopping so she could pick up a few things for Christmas.  I picked up a few more things too.  I'm also happy to be posting today's card using a few favourites.  Come and have a look. It's probably been about a week since I made my last butterfly card, so I was keen to use these products for today's card.  I had a busy week leading up to my final class last week, and I made this card for no particular reason other than I could.  The cardstock is Tip Top Taupe, Whisper White and Wisteria Wonder.  The White background was stamped with Swallowtail stamp in Taupe and I layered a Wisteria butterfly over the top cut with the Butterfly Thinlits die.  The greeting comes from the Butterfly basics s...

Woodland Sympathy Card

Image
Hello Everyone, Its been a busy weekend as usual here in the heat and the running around, but its also been a great weekend, particularly because I had a class yesterday which was our final one for this year.  How about yours? Today's card is another sample I made to show at my class using the Woodland embossing folder and the technique of inking and stamping inside of it.  Come and have a look. The Sympathy greeting on this one comes from the Petite Pairs stamp set and I've used Memento Black ink on this one over Sahara Sand Card and a base of Basic Black card.  The Tree stamp used comes from the Sheltering Tree stamp set and the card was finished off with some Sahara Sand lace as you will see in the full pic below. Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope the rest of your weekend is fantastic.

Guy Greetings Woodland Birthday

Image
Hello Everyone, I have a card to show you that my ladies made in today's class.  This was one for the guys using the Woodland Embossing Folder combined with the stamp set Guy Greetings.  I made a square one today using a base of Basic Gray combined with Whisper White card.  Come and have a look. I've used Basic Gray ink inside the embossing folder before putting my card in and putting through my Big Shot.  Here is a full view of the card. The car and greeting images from the Guy Greetings stamp set has been stamped with Memento Black ink and I finished off  the panel with  Candy dots. Thanks so much for stopping by today to see my card.  Enjoy your weekend.

Merry Tree Card

Image
Hi Everyone, Today's card uses some leftover bits from my desk. I've used the negative of the Tree punch here through some corrigated card.  The tree from this card was used a week or so ago on another Christmas card I designed, and I'd been saving this piece.  The pattern underneath is paper from the Merry Moments pack and the cardstock is Real Red and Old Olive.  Merry has been cut with the Christmas greeting thinlits and I've also used the Star punch. Thanks so much for stopping by to see my card.  Have a great day.

PCCCSC172 Two week challenge - Happy Christmas

Image
Hi Everyone, Welcome to our Wednesday card sketch challenge at the Paper Craft Crew . This one will run for an extra week to allow more of you time to play in the US due to Thanksgiving celebrations there. I love a square card and I do love this sketch from Pam this week. I've used the Designer Paper pack Merry Moments for this card over a Real Red card base.  The greeting comes from the photopolymer stamp set called Oh What Fun which has been cut out with the Deco Label framelits and layered onto a circle cut from Old Olive card. We hope you will join us for the 2 week challenge this week at the Paper Craft Crew  .  We can't wait to see what you make. Have a great day.

SIP#24 Colour Challenge - Watermelon Cards

Image
Hi Everyone, Happy Tuesday to you and welcome to our challenge this week at Stamp Ink Paper .  It's a colour challenge for you this week. I immediately thought of Watermelons when I saw these colours, so I had a bit of fun and made some cute watermelon cards.  I don't generally do cute but it gave me an opportunity to try something different.  Come and have a look. This was the first one I made using a circular base of Basic Black card then folded it in half.  It gave me an opportunity to drag out my Circle scissors which haven't seen the light of day in many years.  I so rarely have the need to cut a larger circle or layered circles like this size and can generally get away with the use of my Circle collection framelits or smaller circle punches. The stamp I've used for Celebrate comes from the photopolymer set called Celebrate Today.  I freestyle cut the banner shape and placed it onto black card cut with the Decorative Label punch. ...

Woodland Birthday

Image
Hi Everyone, Today I have a Masculine card to share.  I've made this card using the Woodland Textured Impressions embossing folder and Happy Birthday Everyone Hostess stamp set. This card uses only two Cardstocks and two inks plus some pretty cool and easy techniques.  The Cardstocks are Chocolate chip and Crumb Cake.  The inks are Chocolate chip and Hello Honey.  I'm not sure what one of the techniques is called, but it involves inking inside the embossing folder before the card is placed in and embossed, and the other is masking. This card was finished off with some Neutral candy dots.   Have a great day.

Square Butterfly Basics Card

Hello Everyone, How is your weekend going?  Mine's been extremely busy as usual, as Mum's taxi is always on call, between daughters going to parties, sleepovers and work.  We even managed to do a little Christmas shopping while we were gift shopping for the party.  Its leading up to a very busy time of year. Today my card was made very quickly as I already had the Butterfly for this one precut and sitting on my desk waiting for a place to land.  Here it is. The cardstock I've used is Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White, Wisteria Wonder and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer.  The Butterfly has been cut with the Butterfly Thinlits (largest) and was finished with an Iced Rhinestone.  The inks used were Pear Pizzazz, Crumb Cake and Elegant Eggplant. Here's the full pic of the card. It feels good to make the occasional butterfly card after such a lot of Christmas card creations this year.  This truly is one of my favourite bundles. Have a great ...

Natural Thanks

Image
Hi everyone, Today's card uses up some vintage paper from my stash called Spice Cake which I've combined with some of our corrigated card, a button, some linen thread and Natural Expressions thanks. The cardstock used for the base is Soft Suede.  For a quick and easy card and I'm so happy with how it turned out. Thank you for stopping by today.  Have a great weekend.

Pineapple Easel Card

Image
Hi Everyone, Friday nights are basketball, so I am a little late with posting this card.  When I was making yesterday's Pineapple card for Morgan, I actually made 2 cards to let my daughter choose for her friend.  This was the other option, an Easel card, and I layered the pineapple up over a second one to create a 3D effect.  Come and have a look. The image is a Digi stamp because I didn't have a suitable one in my collection and I've coloured it with Copic Markers (alcohol markers).  I went back to using these since Stampin Up discontinued the Blendability markers, although I still have a few of them.  Unfortunately I don't have a full range of them The cardstock I've used is Old Olive, Basic Black and Whisper White.   The pattered paper comes from the In Colour 12 x 12 paper stack and I've used the Decorative Label punch for both the accents and the greeting panel, stamped with the Well Scripted vintage stamp set.  Here's the full pic of t...

Pineapple Card for Morgan

Image
Hi Everyone, This card was made by request by my daughter for one of her friends.  These 14 year old girls either seem to like Cactus or Pineapples.  I don't know what the attraction is with spiky things but apparently it is the latest craze.  Typo (the store) was full of all sorts of these types of things when we went gift shopping for the Birthday girl. I didn't have a pineapple stamp so I went online in search of a Digi stamp I could use which I printed out onto card and I coloured it with my alcohol pens, then fussy cut it. I am 100% confident that the Birthday girl will get a kick out of this card (ie like it) because her Party Invitation was printed with a Pineapple on it too.   Here's her party invitation, lol. The cardstock I've used is Basic Black and Whisper white with some background paper added from the In Colour paper stack.  The Whisper White layer has been embossed with the Decorative dots embossing folder.  Here's the full ...

Paper Craft Crew #171 - Butterfly Thanks

Image
Hello Everyone, Its time for another Wednesday challenge at the Paper Craft Crew .  Here are our  details for this week. I haven't used a butterfly on a card in a while and it was long overdue.  This one comes from the Stamp Set Kinda Eclectic.  The butterfly image was stamped in Memento black ink onto Crumb Cake card. The cardstock I've used is Basic Black and Crumb Cake.  The leafy patterned paper came from the English Garden paper pack from the last Occasions catalogue. I used a permanent marker to colour a Basic Rhinestone black for the centre of the butterfly and I layered it up on an extra black punched butterfly with the Elegant Butterfly punch for a shadow effect. Thanks so much for stopping by today to view my card.  We hope you will join us at the Paper Craft Crew  for this week's challenge.  Have a great day.

Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #23 - Making Spirits Bright

Image
Hi Everyone, Happy Tuesday to you and welcome to another challenge at Stamp Ink Paper .  This week we have a sketch for you. I thought this sketch was a great design for a Christmas card and I decided to make, not one but two while I had the supplies handy.  The stamp on this card comes from the Among the Branches set from the Holiday catalogue cut and layered with the Circle collection framelits and the patterned paper is from the Merry Moments paper pack in our Annual catalogue. The cardstock I've used is Smoky Slate, Real Red and Old Olive.  I also found some Old Olive bow clips from my stash which I added to the top of my layered circles. Here's a closer look. Thanks so much for stopping by to see what I've made for this week's sketch at  Stamp Ink Paper.  We hope you will join us and can't wait to see what you create for our challenge.
