Music Teacher Farewell // Paper Players #173 Shaped Card Challenge

Hello Everyone, It's a sad week for my daughter and her friends who have really enjoyed what the music program offered them at the High School this year.  Their very talented teacher will be moving on to a new school and they're having a little party for their last day of the Vocal ensemble practice which was an extra activity that he undertook with the students, as well as teaching them to play all sorts of instruments in lesson times. His speciality though, Guitar!  I have decided to enter this card into the Paper Players Shaped Card Challenge this week.  While not specifically made for the challenge, I think it's a pretty cool shape and fits the criteria.  I also think more people deserve to see this card. When asked to make a card for the group to give him, with that in mind I found some inspiration on Pinterest and came up with this card. Create with Connie and Mary 274 and JAI 188 2nd Entry

Hello Everyone, There is another Colour Challenge this week over at Create with Connie and Mary I love the colour combo and have decided to make a DL sized card (long and skinny).  I'm calling this card a Hex Grunge Butterfly card.  Stamp sets used are Gorgeous Grunge, Six Sided Sampler and Papillon Potpourri stamp set and co-ordinating punches. Grunge is not normally my style, but I recently had the stamp set out for another challenge over at JAI.  Love the pretty Soft Sky colour over the Very Vanilla card.  I've also decided to enter this card into the Grunge Challenge this week at Just Add Ink as a 2nd entry.   Have a closer look. Just Add Ink Sketch Challenge 168

Hello Everyone, After my success last week with an Honorable Mention in the Fabric Challenge (thanks JAI girls) I was keen to join in again with their Sketch.  However I think it's a lot trickier to come up with something for this sketch design at Just Add Ink .   Go and check out the samples from the Design Team for some Inspiration. Here is what I came up with using Pleasant Poppies and Loving Thoughts stamps. See what I mean, coming up with something to resemble that diamond shape, I decided to make a window cutout in my card with the Apothecary Accent long framelit.  Well it has a point, at either end.  Once I made that decision, then the rest of the card fell into place. My Cardstock is Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White (on Inside) and Vellum.  After I'd cut out the window I stamped with Stazon Ink onto the Vellum with the Pleasant Poppies background stamp.  I coloured the back of the image with Markers, Riding Hood R...
