Gidday Mate - Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge 46

Hello Everyone,

Greetings from you know where? (Gidday Mate, how are ya)

Another Wednesday and another card for the Paper Craft Crew.  Here is my Design Team card using    Forever Young stamp set, and a bit of contraban for the the sketch below.  There is a Patriotic theme this week coming up to US 4th July, but as I'm an Aussie I'm doing an Australian themed card for this weeks challenge (Postcard style).  I've done a little brayering in the background (sky) and the rest of the background and Rock is all sponging.

Can you guess where this is meant to be?

Here is a better look at that Cockatoo.

Yes, it's meant to look like this - Uluru (formerly known as Ayers rock).

This brought out my quirky side, needing to be a little different and I had a lot of fun designing this card with my girls contributing ideas.  My youngest daughter even said Mum, surprisingly, your card actually does look like that (Australian).

Here is the sketch from Pam this week (and what we were supposed to do)

Sorry I didn't adhere to the sketch.  It didn't fit with my postcard, but I had fun with the Australian theme, even though I wouldn't call it a Patriotic card.  I hope you will have a chance to play along with this challenge with the Paper Craft Crew.  The Theme is optional, and in my case, so was the sketch.  Hey, I'm not being voted on, am I.

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you can join us in the challenge.

See ya later.

  2. G'day Carolyn! What a great take on the outback? You have captured it perfectly, especially using "Forever Young" for the foreground - how clever. I can almost hear the cockatoo singing in the trees, but wait he is sitting on the power lines outside my office!!!! TFS

    1. Thanks very much, Vicki. I nearly wasn't going to submit a card for this challenge as I couldn't think of something to fit the Patriotic them in keeping with the sketch.

  4. My Aus neighbor would agree your card looks like Ayers Rock or whatever the new name is. Wonderful! TFS.
