Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge #65

Image
Hello from Downunder, Here is the latest sketch challenge from the Paper Craft Crew .  Hope you will join us. I've chosen to make another Christmas card today in non traditional colours using the Single stamp called Wonderful Blessing.  I've embossed this stamp on white card and used the ink resist method of sponging the inks to highlight the embossing, then I've cut the stamp out with the Circles Collection framelits. The cardstock used is Rich Razzleberry and Whisper White, with a little Winter Frost dsp and silver glimmer paper.  The lower section of my Rich Razzleberry card was embossed with the Pretty Prints embossing folder.  The ink used for sponging was Pool Party and Rich Razzleberry.  Here is a closeup. Love this technique.  It's a great one to try in many different colours and something you might like to try out yourself.  Don't forget to check out was the other Design Team members have made for you this week.  ...

Create with Connie and Mary 274 and JAI 188 2nd Entry

Image
Hello Everyone, There is another Colour Challenge this week over at Create with Connie and Mary I love the colour combo and have decided to make a DL sized card (long and skinny).  I'm calling this card a Hex Grunge Butterfly card.  Stamp sets used are Gorgeous Grunge, Six Sided Sampler and Papillon Potpourri stamp set and co-ordinating punches. Grunge is not normally my style, but I recently had the stamp set out for another challenge over at JAI.  Love the pretty Soft Sky colour over the Very Vanilla card.  I've also decided to enter this card into the Grunge Challenge this week at Just Add Ink as a 2nd entry.   Have a closer look. So what do you think of today's card for both challenges this week, the Colour challenge and the Grunge challenge at JAI.   Please feel free to make a comment.  I'd love to hear your thoughts. Have a great day.

Wonderful Blessing

Image
Hello Everyone, How has your day been?  I'm in a fabulous mood today, being Monday.  That's the day I play Social Badminton and we have an ongoing Battle of the Sexes game going each week.  Of course the Ladies are in the lead.  Another win today, yippee and it was a tough match today.  We were down at the start and made a comeback. LOL! Onto today's card here.  I've used a new Single Stamp today called Wonderful Blessing.  I've stamped the image with Versamark Ink and embossed it with White Embossing powder onto the Not Quite Navy (retired) card.  It's then been cut out with the Circles Collection Framelits, and mat onto a paper doily on another layer of Not Quite Navy card over a Pool Party base card.  The Not Quite Navy layer was embossed with the Mosaic Embossing folder and I've added some Pool Party ribbon to match the base card, wrapped around that embossed panel and tied in the front. Another quick but also effective card,...

Thinking of You

Image
Hello Everyone, I've had a pretty busy day today and am a little late posting my card, sorry.  Hope you've all had a great weekend..   I've made a simple masculine card today using an image that has been on my desk for over a month.  Every now and then it's nice to let others know how much you care.  The greeting "Thinking of You" says it all.   It's one of those greetings which can cover many situations. So, to my friends out there, I'm thinking of you today. Here is my card. The image is from the stamp set Wetlands, which my friend and downline Michelle loaned to me to try out about a month ago.  I've coloured the goose with blender pens and markers.  The greeting is from the stamp set Sweet Essentials and the card base is the Woodgrain sheet from the specialty paper pack Natural Composition. Thanks for calling,  I'll see you again tomorrow.

Just Add Ink #188 - Grunge Challenge

Image
Hello Everyone, Well we've had another hot and sticky day on the Sunshine Coast and I'm really hoping for some relief with a bit of rain soon.  Washing at the Laundromat to preserve our tank water at home is not doing wonders for my time management at the moment. On the upside, had a lovely day at class today with my group and I demonstrated the new Envelope Punch Board, so I thought I would include another one here with my card submission to Just Add Ink Grunge challenge this week. I would have to say that the grunge style is not really my style and it certainly made it a challenge for me.  To feel more in my comfort zone I've included it with some Butterflies.  I'm calling my card Butterfly Grunge.  The dsp is retired from the pack called Domestic Goddess and the stamp set is called Gorgeous Grunge.  The butterflies come from the Beautiful Butterflies die and the Bitty Butterfly punch and the greeting is from the set Label Love. The inks I've st...

Sneak Peek - Envelope punch board.

Image
Hello Everyone, The weather has cooled off here alot today and we are starting to get a few showers.  That's really nice because of our water situation, we rely on the rain to fill our tanks.  I hope there is more rain coming. My pre-order arrived for this amazing new product call the Envelope punch board and I've been busy trying it out, on you guessed it, making some envelopes. Here are the results I wanted to do a few to go with cards I've already made in co-ordinating papers. And I also made up a few spares for good measure and to use up a little excess dsp as well. I think it will be a fabulous tool to demo, regardless of which dsp is used.  I'm thinking I will let everyone choose their own sheet this weekend at class and make their own envelope to take home. More details on this tool are coming soon. Have a great day.

More Rev up the Birthday Fun with Thinlits

Image
Hello Everyone, Wow, hasn't it been so hot and dry.  My thoughts are currently with those affected by the massive fires in New South Wales.  I hope the conditions will ease there soon.  So many people have lost their homes and we'll have to find out how we can all help out in the coming weeks and months. Today's card uses the new Label Thinlet die.  I'm loving these Thinlits framelits at the moment and I've been working on samples to showcase for my upcoming class.  This is another one I've made using the Motor Cycle image from the Rev up the Fun stamp set and the Label Card Thinlits this time. I've also used the Positively Chevron background stamp on this card.  The cardstock used is Basic Black, Very Vanilla and Cherry Cobbler.  I've combined that with Cherry Cobbler and Black Stazon Ink, just for the gorgeous grunge stamped lines under the bike. This stamp set is great for the males in the family.  I actually have 3 brother in laws, ...

Happy Birthday, Marian

Image
Hello Everyone, Today I'm sharing the card I've made for my Dear Kind and Wonderful Friend, Marian. I've used the new Circle Thinlits and made a flip card for her using a little of the Vintage product.  This was the card I started with, then I added just a little more to it. The Stamp set is called  Artistic Etchings which I know is a personal favourite.  I've combined it with the stamp set, Postage Due for the little stamps on the bottom corner and the background stamp Positively Chevron which has been gold embossed.  The base card is Bermuda Bay which is combined with Basic Black, Whisper White and sum Brushed Gold cardstock.  The basic black panel has been embossed through the Bigshot with the Lacy Brocade embossing folder.  But I didn't stop there.  I've added to this card and I've combined some of the Flower trim with some Gold Smooch spritz & Little Leaves die.  I also added a signature butterfly from the Beautiful Wings die....

The Paper Players PP168 - Masculine Card challenge

Image
Hi Everyone, This challenge was the perfect opportunity to get a birthday card made for a friend of mine.  You'll keep my secret won't you?  It's a surprise for later this week.  I was so happy that this week's theme is a Masculine card at the Paper Players .  It gave me the incentive I needed to get one finished. Today I'm using the stamp set called Rev up the Fun.  I've decided on Red for this challenge.  The recipient has a red bike.  LOL! Here is my card Cardstock is Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler and Confetti White.  I've used our new Circle Thinlits to create this flip card.  Just love them.  I've also used the Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder on the Red Panel. I've also used the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set on my focal panel with the motor bike. Would you like to see the flip side of this card?  Here it is. Thanks so much for stopping by to see today's post.  One last look?  Here you go. ...

Just Add Ink #187 -

Image
Hello Everyone, This week's challenge at Just Add Ink is a sketch challenge. I'm here to join in with this great sketch by Paula.     I wondered about this at first, but decided to try one of my new Christmas stamps from the Holiday Catalogue called O Holy Night.  My cardstock base is Smoky Slate with a layer of Winter Frost Designer Series paper.  I've also used Coastal Cabana, Whisper White and Island Indigo card, the Star punch from the Merry minis punch set and the Holiday Ornament framelits. I've stamped with Island Indigo ink for my card and added a Frosted Embellishment to the ornament. I really like the colour combo and Winter Frost specialty dsp is my fave from the Holiday Catalogue. Thanks for calling in today and please feel free to tell me what you think of my card.
