Just Add Ink #188 - Grunge Challenge
Hello Everyone,
Well we've had another hot and sticky day on the Sunshine Coast and I'm really hoping for some relief with a bit of rain soon. Washing at the Laundromat to preserve our tank water at home is not doing wonders for my time management at the moment.
On the upside, had a lovely day at class today with my group and I demonstrated the new Envelope Punch Board, so I thought I would include another one here with my card submission to Just Add Ink Grunge challenge this week.
I would have to say that the grunge style is not really my style and it certainly made it a challenge for me. To feel more in my comfort zone I've included it with some Butterflies. I'm calling my card Butterfly Grunge. The dsp is retired from the pack called Domestic Goddess and the stamp set is called Gorgeous Grunge. The butterflies come from the Beautiful Butterflies die and the Bitty Butterfly punch and the greeting is from the set Label Love.
The inks I've stamped with include Perfect Plum, Island Indigo, Smoky Slate and Pistachio Pudding with my base card being Whisper White. Here is the matching envelope below.
Here they are photographed both together.
Thanks very much for calling in today to see my card. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

"Butterfly Grunge" .... you might just've invented a new craft category, Carolyn! This is lovely. It's not a bad thing to stretch ourselves beyond our comfort zones, is it? I've been having fun with my new Envelope Punch Board too - how cool is it to be able to create an envelope to match a card?! Thanks for playing along with us at Just Add Ink this week. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks very much, Christine. Good to stretch now and then, and great to be able to use up some of the retired dsp with envelopes now.
DeleteLove your pretty feminine version of grunge Carolyn and the addition of the butterfly's and coordinating envelope finishes it beautifully. Thanks for joining in at JAI. xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Nikki.
DeleteLove the subtle colours on your grunge card. The card and envelope together have a nice, lighthearted fun feel to them
ReplyDeleteThanks Rhonda. My goal this weekend was to demo the Envelope punch board, hence the making of the envelope. Then I had to make the card, to go with it, to incorporate the dsp. Talk about putting the cart before the horse. Upside - 3 orders from my ladies to be placed for the punch board when it becomes available next week.
DeleteOh, I like the sound of Butterfly Grunge! You do it so well too Carolyn ♥
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing along with us this week at JAI
Thanks very much Paula. This is my first attempt at Butterfly Grunge. Do you think it may catch on? I might give it another go.
DeleteI love the idea of mixing butterflies and grunge Carolyn and your choice of colours is lovely too. Thanks for joining us at Just Add Ink.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Kim.
DeleteWooHoo lots of grungy-ness here!
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing at Just Add Ink this week.
