Masculine Feeling Sentimental with Faux Patina technique

Hi Everyone,

I've been making some cards for an upcoming class with a favourite technique we've done before, but like some other demo friends of mine, thought I would use it with the Sale-a-bration Set Feeling Sentimental.  My twist on them (pardon the pun) is they are Twisted Easels, instead of regular cards.

Firstly here are the panels I've made for these cards using 2 different embossing folders, the Argyle and the Lacy Brocade.  I've used colours on these which I hoped to look less pretty and more masculine.  The look is quite vintage.

Here is the first card using the Penny Farthing image

Note this card uses Gold embossing powder for the technique and I've used the Piercing Stencil around the Label Framelit.

Here is the card made using the Telephone Box image from the same set.

On this card I've used Silver embossing powder for the Faux Patina Technique, and teamed it of course with a Large Silver button this time from the Seasonal Mini as my anchor to old up the front of the Twisted Easel Card.  I've also pieced the Label Framelit on this card.  I like the bit of extra detail it adds.

Thanks so much for stopping by to view my cards.  I hope you will consider them Masculine enough as my daughter thinks the panel on this one is a bit too pretty.

If you would like more information, please contact me.

  1. I think they both look terrific. Vintage and "manly". Maybe the scallop edge should be grey for a more manly look on the last one? Just to keep daughter happy. hehe. I say well done. I would never have thought of doing this for a male card, now I can't wait to try one myself.

  2. Great cards. Love the look. Agree with Vicki though maybe swap the scallop edge for a grey. But they are definately masculine.
