Happy World Cardmaking Day - Saturday 5th October

Today is World Cardmaking Day and I just had to make a card to mark the occasion.
The stamp set I've used is called Joyful Christmas. I've chosen a non-traditional colour pallet for my Easel card, taking inspiration from the Winter Frost Dsp which I've added to the bottom on my card. I've stamped the Pointsettia with versamark ink and heat embossed with Pool Party EP, then cut and layered onto my card front.
Easel cards are a favourite style of mine and I think this one in particular is so pretty, soft and delicate. The cardstock used is Pool Party for the base, Whisper White for the background and Smoky Slate for the embossed greeting. The Whisper White panel behind the Pointsettia has been embossed with the Stylish Stripes embossing folder, twice so that it forms a square plaid background.
I've cut the greeting out with the Deco Label framelits and raised it on dimentionals. That forms the anchor to stand the Easel card front upright. I've been asked how I make these Easels, so I'm adding some basic instructions here, or you can search on Splitcoast Stampers for a tutorial for Easel Cards, but the measurements for mine (in metric) are below.
Basic Easel Card Instructions:-
My Pool Party card base measures half an A4 sheet, so it's 21 cm by 14.8cm
you will also need an extra piece which is half of this again (or quarter of the sheet) 10.5 x 14.8cm
First fold the base card in half, to form a landscape or tent fold card.
Next fold the front of the card up, back ontop of itself so that the bottom edge meets the fold and the top. Make sure this is nice and precise and neat with a bone folder.
Place adhesive on the top flap which is now exposed and adhere the second piece of card to it, lining all edges up so that when pushed flat, all edges meet neatly. This piece you've just added forms your front to decorate as you please. It's the part that stands and you need to decorate the bottom and add a panel of some form on dimentionals to allow the front to rest against. That is the panel that I've added my greeting to in this instance after I've lined what was the inside of the base card with WW card and dsp.
