Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge #33

Hello Everyone,

Here is this weeks challenge sketch we are working with at the Paper Craft Crew.  The theme this week is St. Patrick's Day.  This is a theme I struggled with, not personally celebrating it, nor having any appropriate stamps for the occasion.  However an idea did come to me, and I wasn't sure if it was going to work out or not, inspired by a couple of different things I'd seen on Pinterest  and the fact that Irish are lucky, aren't they.  I was thinking about the story about the Pot of Gold and little men in green.  If you catch one, they give you gold.

I had to be a little creative this week, coming up with a card using our Ovals Collection Framelits dies and some Punch Art.  Here is my St. Patrick's Day themed card.

The rainbow is made with the Ovals Collection Framelits and the Pot of Gold with Circle and Word Window punches.  The gold from the tiny circle from the Bitty punches set using Brushed Gold cardstock.  Obviously there are many colours of card used on this card with the Base & Pot being Basic Black and the rainbow colours many from our Brights collection pack with added Subtles to include different shades of blue and purple ie Marina Mist, Perfect Plum and the background is Bashful Blue embossed with the Cloudy Days Embossing Folder.  The Green patterned paper is from the Paper Stack Print Poetry.  My greeting is from the set Teeny Tiny Sentiments and this is the first time it has ever been inked.  I've just never made a St. Patrick's day card before.

The rainbow was a little trickier than I imagined, however so glad it turned out.

Here is one of the sources I came across by Marie Shaunessy.  I thought this card was so cute, and since I'd pinned it, many others have too.  She made a witches cauldron for Halloween.  I basically adapted that to my smaller pot of gold.

Also in Australia one of our National Lotteries is called Gold Lotto, which has similar advertising with a Rainbow and Pot of Gold, with a slogan "WOULDN'T IT BE NICE........."  Yes it, would, if you actually won.  And so my idea came to fruition and the rest is history so they say.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I would love you to join in our challenge this week and can't wait to see what you come up with.  Why don't you pop on over to the Paper Craft Crew and see what others in the Design Team have made.
