Freshly Made Sketches #80

Hi Everyone,

How was your weekend.  We've had showers all weekend and more rain and showers predicted all the coming week.  This week I wanted to join in with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.  It's a lovely CAS sketch.  Here is this weeks sketch.
This is the card I've made for this weeks challenge.  I'm using Creative Elements,  Papillon Potpourri Stamp sets and greeting from retired Well Scripted Set.  My base card is Basic Black which I've stamped with Versamark and Heat embossed with white embossing powder.  I've mounted my layered Butterfly onto Labels Framelits cut from black card and layered with Large Oval punch. The butterfly was stamped with Melon Mambo.  I also embossed the black framelit with Designer Frames Embossing Folder.  I've finished my card off with some little butterflies from the Beautiful Wings Embosslits and some Lace tape from the Seasonal Catalogue.

Here is a closer look at that layered butterfly
I did use my Powder Pal, but obviously didn't go over the black card well enough and I have a few specks of white on my card.

I also made a second card while I had all the bits out using the same layout, but my girls really preferred the first one.  On this second card I've used a piece of Basic Black card which I cut the first Label Framelits from and I embossed it with the Fancy Fan embossing folder.  I layered this piece onto Naturals White Card for my base and I also used a layered butterfly but I went larger using the Beautiful Butterflies die and cutting the larger one from Floral District Dsp which I backed onto some Whisper White card for strength.  The Butterfly centre is a Brooch pinned on which can be taken off by the recipient if they wish and used as it is a piece of Jewellery.

This is my Big butterfly

So which card do you like the best?  Thanks so much for visiting.  Please leave me some comments, so I know you've been and have a great day.

  1. Hmmm. tough choice. I am partial to brooches... but I think the girls are right. By the way how much are you loving that lace tape! I can't get enough of it. Wish it came on bigger rolls (and was cheaper). Vx

    1. Thanks Vicki, yes I love the Lace tape. Would be nice if it was more cost effective to use in class though.
