Just Add Ink 178 - Just Add Snowflakes
Hello Everyone,
This is my second week at Just Add Ink and Guest Designer and this weeks challenge is a themed one, to Just Add Snowflakes.
This is what I decided on. A CAS card (Clean and Simple) using the Snow Flurry die from last year's Holiday catalogue. I'm using the new Deco Label Framelits available from our Annual Catalogue and the printed Window sheet from the specialty paper pack Quatrefancy.
Base of my card is Sahara Sand whith a frame made from Pool Party card and a co-ordinating Snowflake cut from Pool Party and Silver Glimmer card. The greeting on my card is from the Snowflake Soiree stamp set (still available in the Carryover Flyer from last year's Holiday catalogue) and was stamped and heat embossed with Pool Party Embossing Power. Here is a closer look at that snowflake.
After I'd finished this card and submitted it to the JAI design team I then made this Joy Fold card which I'm really quite happy with using some similar products.
The Merry is from the same stamp set as the Believe above called Snowflake Soiree. It's stamped with Island Indigo ink onto some Naturals White card and punched out with the decorative label punch. This is mounted onto foam and becomes the closure for this card. The Framelits cut panel with the snowflake on swings open, but is neatly tucked under the greeting to stay closed. Here is a photo of the opened card.
I've folded a piece of the Naturals White card to cut it out double with the Deco Label framelits, leaving an edge in tact. It basically creates a mini card which is adhered to the main card. The paper is from the Quatrefancy specialty pack teamed with Pool Party and Naturals White cardstock today.
And here is a picture of that Glimmer Snowflake. Such an elegant die. Don't you hate it when they retire
stuff that you love. Anyway, thanks for stopping by. We hope you will join us over at Just Add Ink for the latest Snowflake challenge. Have a great day.

Both cards are beautiful, Carolyn! I love how you've used the window sheet on your DT sample; so pretty, and elegant. The second card is very clever and I love that you used Naturals White - it looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteThanks very much, Christine

ReplyDeleteThanks Paula, no I'm not parting with this die either.
DeleteCAS simple really lets that lovely sparkly snowflake star Carolyn, and the window sheet makes a wonderful but not over powering background. You did a lovely job with your gatefold card too!
