Just Add Ink 179 - Sketch Challenge
Hello All,
This is my 3rd week as a Guest Designer at Just Add Ink and this week's challenge is a sketch by Mae.
This one threw me a little. At first I couldn't see past the splatter and I don't have any current stamps of that style. I should buy some I suppose if I want to be able to make Grungy cards, but I left this card until the last minute. Silly me.
Here is the sketch.
I decided on a more elegant design instead. This is what I came up with using the Beautifully Baroque single stamp which I've stamped and embossed with Gold Embossing powder. I then coloured some of the image.
I've used Island Indigo ink with a blender pen in the fine border and I've used watercoloured the centre of the embossed image with Rich Razzleberry ink. I love these rich jewel tones. My Cardstock is Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White and Island Indigo and I've used Chevron Ribbon and Papillon Potpourri stamp set and co-ordinating punches for my butterfly. The greeting is from the set Petite Pairs and punched with the Mosaic punch layered onto the Modern Label punch.
Have a closer look here.
I must also thank Belinda Neil as she was the inspiration for the colouring the inside of this stamp. Without first having seen what she did, I probably wouldn't have thought to try it myself. I really love how this turned out.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Hope to see you over at Just Add Ink in the challenge with a card of your own.

Really lovely, Carolyn. The rich colours are just perfect with that gorgeous Beautifully Baroque stamp. I love how you've punched out the sentiment with the Mosaic punch, and the chevron ribbon is perfect. Beautiful card!
