For my followers & US Friends

Hello Everyone,

As well as posting a card today I thought I would share a few of the things around me, that make where I live the most tranquil & serene place and such an inspiration to me.  Australia is a beautiful part of the world and where I am in Queensland is a popular holiday destination with interstate and overseas visitors. Also I'll share a few things that are distinctly Aussie.  I know you all out there are jealous.

Here is today's card.

I've used a combination of Strawberry Slush and Smoky Slate on this card.  The image was watercoloured with blender pens and markers and the background with aquapainter and smoky slate ink.  The stamp set is Simply sketched and the background stamp is Positively Chevron.  My US friend encouraged my purchase of that background stamp, he is such an enabler.  Thanks Justin.

Here was the inspiration for the flower, straight out of my front garden.

Next I have a few photos from the front of our property from the main road up to our drive.
This is what you look out for when driving along the Noosa-Cooroy Road.  My husband made his version of "Bender" from recycled materials from the tip.
This is the entry, hidden from the main road.
This gorgeous bush in my favourite colour right beside our front gate.

Here are some visitors in the backyard that we see often.

We have a very large backyard beyond the fenced off house area, LOL, about 160 hectares.
Here are a few more photos in the backyard.  These are for my girls.
And their pet guinea pigs

Thanks very much for stopping by.  I hope you've enjoyed a few pictures from around my place.  Please feel free to drop me a comment while visiting me, as I love to hear from you.

See you next time.  Have a great weekend.

Just Add Ink 180 - Nikki's colouring challenge

Hello Everyone,

How are you all today?  I've just put my husband on a plane to go to work in Western Australia for a new job.  He will be away for 4 weeks and it's the first time he's been away from home for this long.  I'm a single Mum once again. On the upside, I should be able to get lots of cards made, don't you think?  That and running around after 2 girls should keep me out of mischief, LOL!

Today's post is for my 4th and last Guest Designer card at Just Add Ink this month using a colouring challenge by Nikki to "Just Add Colouring".  I chose to Watercolour with my aquapainter and inks - Old Olive and Crisp Cantaloupe.

Here is my card.

I've used a new Hostess stamp set called Simply Sketched.  I've wanted this set since the moment our new catalogue started, however this set went into backorder for a while shortly after release.  It's available again now.

The cardstock is Crisp Cantaloupe, Whisper White and Smoky Slate.  I've used the Delicate Doilies Sizzix die and embossing folders of Mosaic on the White background and Lacy Brocade on the Smoky Slate which I've cut out using Chalk Talk framelits.

We hope you will come on over to Just Add Ink and see what the other Team members have made for your inspiration.  We would love you to join us for this weeks challenge.

Have a great day everyone.

An Early Happy Father's Day

Hello Everyone,

We are celebrating Father's Day a little early in our household here.  My girls woke up their Dad quite early this morning to celebrate with some gifts, and gave him a quick card that I finished last night.  The reason being, we are off to the airport this afternoon to see him off for 4 weeks as he flies out from Brisbane  to Perth for the first leg of his journey tonight.   He's off to WA for a new job and it's a 4 week on shift and 1 week off.  Western Australia is across the country some 5,000 kms from where we live on the East Coast of Australia.

This is the card I made using some Watercolouring.  I really didn't like the image at first, but when you take off your glasses, I looks like a painting and I really started to warm to the image and the coloured looking background.

I've used the Wetlands set again and stamped the image in Early Espresso.  This is why the image bleeds.  If you want a crisp image instead of this water painting look, stamp with Stazon ink.  I've also used the Woodgrain Embossing folder all over the background and the frame is cut with the Deco Label framelits.

The cardstock used is Soft Suede, Pistachio Pudding and Very Vanilla.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Hope you have a wonderful Father's Day with your Father/Husband this Sunday.

The Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge 56

Hello from Downunder,

Yes, it's Wednesday once again.  I say that every week don't I when its time for the sketch challenge with the Paper Craft Crew.

Won't you come and join in with our challenge this week.  Here is the sketch.

This is my card for the Design Team this week.  I've decided to use the Goose from the Wetlands stamp set for another Father's Day card this week. Father's Day is this Sunday.

I've teamed is with the Woodgrain Sheet from Naturals Composition Specialty paper pack.  The cardstock is Basic Black and Very Vanilla and I've used both Deco Label and Oval framelits on this card.  The black label was embossed with the Square lattice embossing folder.

Have a closer look.

Make sure you pop over to the Paper Craft Crew challenge site and see what the other talented designers have made for your inspiration this week.  Hope to see one of your creations in the gallery soon.

Thanks for calling in to see my card today.  Have a great day.

A Wetlands Card for Michelle

Hi Everyone,

I have a really quick post to share today.  It's a card that I've made for a challenge.  This challenge was set for me by the lovely Michelle (my downline).  She has loaned me the set called Wetlands so that I could try it out and I've actually made a couple of masculine cards with it.  Her challenge was for me to make a feminine card with the Goose, so here it is.

She insisted on lace and pearls for this card.  I think I've risen to the challenge.  What do you think?

The cardstock is Crisp Cantaloupe, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla and I've used 2 embossing folders for texture, the Fancy Fan folder on the Soft Suede background and Lacy Brocade on the Panel cut with the Deco Label Framelits.

Have a great day everyone.

Note:  Have you visited my Late Night Stampers Treasure Hunt post.  Find it down the RHS of my page and find the clue to participate.

Create with Connie and Mary

Hello Everyone,

It's a few weeks since I played the challenge over at Create with Connie and Mary
but I was keen to join in again this week with this sketch.

CCMC265The 3 panels intrigued me with this sketch and I love what the Design Team shared this week.

I've decided to use some patterned paper on my card to create my panels from one of my favourite packs called Eastern Elegance and after making a masculine card yesterday, I was ready to make something pretty.  The added benefit with this card was I got to use some scraps that had been hanging around on my desk with the Deco Labels and butterfly.  I always have a few butterflies fluttering around my desk, LOL!

The greeting on this card is from the stamp set Wetlands, which was also sitting on my desk from yesterday.  The Butterfly is from the stamp set called Papillon Potpourri and is punched with the matching Elegant Butterfly punch.  Cardstock is Coastal Cabana, Basic Black and Whisper White.  I shadowed by butterfly with the Basic Black card.  Here is a closer look.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I welcome any feedback from you and love to read your comments.

Fab Friday #25

Hello All,

Welcome to Sunday on the Sunny Sunshine Coast, Qld.

What a gorgeous day and the most perfect weather we are having here.  If you don't know where the Sunshine Coast is, its in the state of Queensland here on the East Coast of Australia.  I have had one little catastrophe today, with the water pump leaking everywhere and I've had to turn off our water inside the house until my husband gets home from his work away.  For those of you not familiar with a water pump, it's for people who live in rural areas and are not connected to a Mains water supply.  We rely on our own supply which is pumped from a tank.

I've made today's card for the Fab Friday Sketch challenge based on the sketch below.

It's quite an easy sketch and thought it would be great to make another quick Father's Day card for next weekend.  We celebrate Father's Day here on the First Sunday in September and that will be Sept. 1.

Now for my card.  I've used the stamp set Wetlands, stamped in Early Espresso Ink onto Crumb Cake Card and used the square panel on the sketch to cut a Window with the Window Framelits.  The Early Espresso Card front has been embossed with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder and I've added a little Linen Thread and one of those Big gorgeous buttons.

The frame is cut from Always Artichoke Cardstock.  Have a look here at the inside.

One last look at the card, and thanks so much for stopping by and leaving me a comment.

Whatever is left of your weekend, make it a great one.  See you next time.

Coffee? Yes Please

Hello Everyone,

I've been having a bit of fun with my new stamp set called Perfect Blend.  Everyone knows that one of my guilty pleasures, along with chocolate is my addiction/oops love of coffee.  This stamp set is Perfect for me and I got to enjoy coffee today with some of my lovely ladies that came to class at my home.

Here is today's card.

The base of my card is Crisp Cantaloupe with Early Espresso and some dsp from Soho Subway pack.  There's also a tiny bit of dsp from the Modern Medley pack as well on my second cup.  I've embossed my background paper with the Lacy Brocade embossing folder and my Espresso Chalk Talk tag with the Fancy Fan embossing folder, adding a Vintage Button and some Linen thread.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Please leave me a little blog love while you're here.  I'd love to know what you think of my card.  Have a great weekend.

Reminder to All:  I'm participating in the Late Night Stampers Fall Treasure Hunt.  Be sure to scroll down the right hand side of my page to find that post and pick up your clue.  Would love to see many participate as I'm offering Blog Candy here in Australia.

Just Add Ink 179 - Sketch Challenge

Hello All,

This is my 3rd week as a Guest Designer at Just Add Ink and this week's challenge is a sketch by Mae.

This one threw me a little.  At first I couldn't see past the splatter and I don't have any current stamps of that style.  I should buy some I suppose if I want to be able to make Grungy cards, but I left this card until the last minute.  Silly me.

Here is the sketch.

I decided on a more elegant design instead.  This is what I came up with using the Beautifully Baroque single stamp which I've stamped and embossed with Gold Embossing powder.  I then coloured some of the image.

I've used Island Indigo ink with a blender pen in the fine border and I've used watercoloured the centre of the embossed image with Rich Razzleberry ink.  I love these rich jewel tones.  My Cardstock is Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White and Island Indigo and I've used Chevron Ribbon and Papillon Potpourri stamp set and co-ordinating punches for my butterfly.  The greeting is from the set Petite Pairs and punched with the Mosaic punch layered onto the Modern Label punch.

Have a closer look here.

I must also thank Belinda Neil as she was the inspiration for the colouring the inside of this stamp.  Without first having seen what she did, I probably wouldn't have thought to try it myself.  I really love how this turned out.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Hope to see you over at Just Add Ink in the challenge with a card of your own.

Confessions of an Addict - FMS #100

Hello Everyone,

My name is Carolyn and I have a confession.  I am an Addict, please let me elaborate.

Today's post is for  Freshly Made Sketches for their 100th sketch challenge.  I really liked this cool sketch and an idea immediately formed.  I am an addict, not just an SU junkie, but also a Coffee Addict/Lover.  I can't start the day without coffee.  I can't get through the day without more of the stuff and when our Annual Catalogue was released I was excited to see a stamp set that I knew I was absolutely going to be buying that fitted me to a T.  It's called Perfect Blend and that's what I'm using on today's card.

Here is the sketch

I love my cute new stamp and haven't had it all that long, but I had a personal challenge to use this set for my very next card after talking with a friend about it last night, as I hadn't inked it yet.  It just so happens that it's today's post I can use it on and the timing of the sketch is perfect.  I am a Lover of coffee.   No, it's more than that, I am a definite Addict.  Yes I'm not ashamed to admit it, and also love this new dsp that arrived with my order called Modern Medley, so that is how this card came about.

I love all the patterns of the Designer Series Paper pack, and it's not often I can say that about a pack of dsp.  There's usually a few sheets that I struggle to use.  The little hearts were punched with my Owl Builder punch from Real Red card and the coordinating cardstock colours here are Basic Black and Very Vanilla.
Let me remind you again, the stamp set is called Perfect Blend.  It's the perfect set for addicts, sorry Lovers of coffee like me.  The sentiment has been punched out with the Artisan Label punch, a very versatile shape too.

Come and have a closer look at my coffee cup, it's soooooo cute.

Thanks very much for stopping by, and if you call in home to me, you are welcome to join me for a coffee.  I'm savouring the aroma now!

Sharing another Birthday card, plus a recent Thank you.

Hello everyone,

I have one more Birthday Card to share with you, which was made by the lovely Michelle, who is my downline.  You can find her blog here Michelle's Creations.

Isn't this stunning.

She's made this in some of my current favourite colours using the Swallowtail stamp.  Yes, everybody knows me well.  That Chevron ribbon as a border is stunning.

Here is a closer look at that Simply pressed clay flower too.

I just love this card, thank you Michelle.

While I was preparing this post, I thought I would add a quick little card I've made to pass onto a customer with her order.  It's very basic using the By the Tide stamp set and a base card of Pool Party with Naturals White card and Bermuda Bay for the punched border trim.

Thanks for popping in today.  Please feel free to leave me some comments.  I love hearing from you.
Bye for now.

Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge 55

Hello from Downunder to everyone,

It's Wednesday once again, which means it's time for another sketch challenge from the Paper Craft Crew.

We would love for you to join us this week with a card of your own.  I've decided I would make a Father's Day card as my Design Team sample.  Make sure you check out what the other talented designers have also made for your inspiration.

Here is this week's sketch.

130523 PCC Sketch v3-003.jpg

I'm in need of some Father's Day cards urgently.  I have people wanting them, plus I have a Dad and a Father in Law.  We celebrate Father's Day here on the First Sunday in September.

I've used By the Tide stamp set for my Lobster card.

The cardstock used is Bermuda Bay, Baked Brown Sugar and Sahara Sand.  My lobster has been stamped in Real Red Ink and coloured with a blender pen.  He was stamped once on the Sahara Sand background card which I'd stamped with the Woodgrain background stamp to make ripples on the sand, and a second time on Whisper White card then hand cut and raised on dimentionals.  Here is a closeup below.

This greeting comes from the stamp set Tiny Tiny Sentiments.  The 3 little dots are our new Candy Dots in the neutrals.  I don't know if Lobsters are really this red in real life or only in the pot, but I do like how he stands out.

Thanks for joining me here today.  We hope to see you over at the Paper Craft Crew with a card of your own for the challenge.

Have a great day.
