Happy Watercolor with Coastal Cabana


Hello Everyone,

We've almost reached the weekend.  What a relief, not too much running around, no early starts and some time to relax.  Don't you love a weekend where you have nothing in particular planned and no one robbing you of time.  Its a good feeling.  The girls will be tied up with rehearsals for the musical Calamity Jane they are in on Sunday, so I will even have some me time.

On with today's card.  I told you I had some good news earlier in the week.  I can share some of it today.  A local shop in town contacted me about supplying their store with my cards.  In fact I have a letter in writing from her calling them my beautiful cards.  Of course I have agreed, and tomorrow I take in my first batch of 20 for a trial.  The one stipulation that had though, although they do want variety they did have a request for some Bees on cards.  You all know my specialty is actually butterflies.  Bees are rare for me.  I had to go through my retired stamps to find some. 

I've included some tiny ones on this floral card.  I found this one in a set called Collage Curios, so I've stamped the bees and the flower in Memento ink and coloured with Blendabilities.  Come have a closer look.


I've used the Daffodil set for the bees and flower centre and Coastal Cabana set for flower with Old Olive set for stem.  The Image has been cut with Oval collection framelits layered onto a Layered Label framelit.



The cardstock used is Coastal Cabana, Whisper White and Basic Black.  The white background has been embossed with a new folder called Lovely Lace.



The greeting used at the bottom of the card is from the Petite Pairs stamp set which has been punched with the Ticket punch layered onto the Modern Label punched piece.

I'm really happy with the classic design and CAS style of this card as its one I'm taking to the store tomorrow.  Have a great Friday.

    Well done.
    It must be the week for it. A local shop who occasionally gets cards from me is moving to a new store and has asked me for a batch of cards.

      Oh cool Vicki, yes it feels good to hand over a batch. There was 20 in mine, and I think I easily have another 20 on hand here I could get to them fairly quickly should they all sell out in a hurry (there's a fair bit of wishful thinking happening too). I have plenty.

Hello Everyone, Welcome to our Wednesday card sketch challenge at the Paper Craft Crew.  Here's our sketch this week    I'm using some designer papers called Merry Moments combined with Festival of Trees stamp and greeting from Teeny Tiny Sentiments.  The cardstock used is Whisper White and Smoky Slate with inks of Old Olive and Real Red.  The greeting comes from the Teeny Tiny Sentiments stamp set and has been punched out with the Washi Tape punch. Here's a closer look.  I love how the Designer papers add so much colour this this card.  The Festival of trees stamp has been combined with the Tree punch for this card. Light up your Christmas

Hi Everyone, You all know how I love my Easel Cards right?  Well I've added a little light to them in the form of the little battery operated candles.  Neil bought me some boxes of them online.  I've been playing around with a couple of different designs which are for an upcoming class of very Special Christmas cards with my group but thought you might like to see them.  This is the first one I've done using the retired stamp set Christmas Lodge.  It's a gorgeous set with this beautiful tree and really suits a vintage style Christmas Card.  I've also used the Deco Label Framelits which are fast becoming a favourite and the Beautifully Baroque and Fancy Fan Embossing Folders. The Cardstock is Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla. I have the light on so you can see the gorgeous effect from the little candle.  Here is a photo when it's off.
