The Paper Players 162 & Happy Birthday

Hello Everyone,

First of all I'd like to send Birthday wishes to my friend, Justin. (JK Cards)  Happy Birthday, hope you have a fantastic day.   There is a card on the way, but it hasn't quite made it all the way over the ocean yet, so I can't share that until I know it's been received.  Here are some Red Velvet Cupcakes the girls made with me in Justin's honour.  Of course, it's us that gets to eat them, mmm delicious.  We haven't eaten them all yet. LOL!

In the meantime I'm sharing a card today made for the Paper Players

Is anyone else having Butterfly withdrawals or is that just me?  Perhaps it's just me, but the Butterflies on this Colour challenge inspired me to play along with Papillon Potpourri.   I love a colour challenge, particularly if the colours involved are Rich Razzleberry or Pool Party.  Good news at The Paper Players this week, as LeAnne's challenge features both.  I had to play along with these.

I've decided to use the swirl in my Everything Eleanor Stamp set along with Papillon Potpourri.  That set is never far from my reach.  I've also added a handmade flower, made using the Scallop Circle punch and scrunching up and separating the layers of the card showing off the soft suede like centre of the cardstock with the Little Leaves die. The Whisper White background was stamped with the Swirl in Pool Party and then embossed with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  My butterflies were stamped in Black Stazon and I used a dauber to colour the centres with Rich Razzleberry ink. The greeting on this card comes from the Hostess stamp set Simply Sketched.  It's a simple layout, but I think it's pretty.

Here is a closer look at the flower.

Thanks very much for calling in today to view my card for this week's challenge and please feel free to leave me some comments while you're here.  I love to read them.  Have a fantastic day.
