Paper Players 164

Hello Everyone,

It's been an extremely hot day for September here today.  One of those days where you want to stay out of the heat and in air conditioning.  We thought the best place to be was the Shopping Centre for a few hours.  The added bonus there was I got to buy a new pair of shoes.  My girls also managed to spend some School Holiday Pocket money too.

This is the sketch for this week's challenge over at the Paper Players.  This sketch is by Sandy and is one I really loved.  I'm so glad I could find the time this week to participate.


I'm using some of the Winter Frost Specialty paper on my card with the Holiday Ornament Framelits, Pretty Prints Embossing Folder, Scallop Border punch and the new silver ribbon and Frosty Finish Embellishments today.  This wasn't what I had first intended to make but the heat got the better of me and I felt like using these cool colours.

The cardstock is Coastal Cabana, Whisper White and Island Indigo.  Here is a closeup of that Holiday Ornament cut out with those framelits.
Thanks to the Paper Players for this gorgeous sketch this week.  I think it makes for a very simple but elegant layout for my card.

    Lovely card, Carolyn. I like the way the embossed text continues the vertical line of the DSP. The colors are divine and the silver ribbon is the perfect accent to the gorgeous ornament. Thank you for joining us at The Paper Players!

    Awesome, modern Christmas card, Carlolyn! I like how you used DSP for the ornament and then topped it with some white space to show off the embellishment. Thanks for playing along with my sketch challenge this week at The Paper Players!

Hello Everyone, Welcome to our Wednesday card sketch challenge at the Paper Craft Crew.  Here's our sketch this week    I'm using some designer papers called Merry Moments combined with Festival of Trees stamp and greeting from Teeny Tiny Sentiments.  The cardstock used is Whisper White and Smoky Slate with inks of Old Olive and Real Red.  The greeting comes from the Teeny Tiny Sentiments stamp set and has been punched out with the Washi Tape punch. Here's a closer look.  I love how the Designer papers add so much colour this this card.  The Festival of trees stamp has been combined with the Tree punch for this card. Light up your Christmas

Hi Everyone, You all know how I love my Easel Cards right?  Well I've added a little light to them in the form of the little battery operated candles.  Neil bought me some boxes of them online.  I've been playing around with a couple of different designs which are for an upcoming class of very Special Christmas cards with my group but thought you might like to see them.  This is the first one I've done using the retired stamp set Christmas Lodge.  It's a gorgeous set with this beautiful tree and really suits a vintage style Christmas Card.  I've also used the Deco Label Framelits which are fast becoming a favourite and the Beautifully Baroque and Fancy Fan Embossing Folders. The Cardstock is Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla. I have the light on so you can see the gorgeous effect from the little candle.  Here is a photo when it's off.
