Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge #91

Image
Hello Everyone, It's Wednesday once again which means its time for a sketch challenge at the Paper Craft Crew .  Here is the sketch below that we are playing with.    Here is my card for the Design Team. I've used the sentiment from the stamp set called Feel Goods, combined with Gorgeous Grunge and Papillon Potpourri butterflies.  I've used the Resist technique stamping with versamark on the white card and heat setting with white embossing powder then sponging over some Pool Party ink.  I used the Oval Collection framelits to create an oval frame. My cardstock used is Pool Party, Crisp Cantaloupe, Whisper White and some Smoky slate for the tiny butterflies (Beautiful Wings Embosslits) and punched shadows for my Papillon Potpourri butterflies. I love how this turned out combining these pretty pastels.   Hope you will join us soon at the Paper Craft Crew challenge.  Can't wait to see your creation for this cool sketch. ...

Celebrate Swallowtail

Image
Hi Everyone, How are you this happy Tuesday?  I've had a productive day playing Domestic Goddess, getting the washing and such done.  The only slight dark point in my day was a snake that appeared from the garden to greet me when I was planning to hang my washing.  It gave me a bit of a fright.  You would think that living in the Country I'd be used to them by now.  NO, I AM NOT. Onto my card today.  You know how butterflies make me happy right?  After the snake sighting I decided my card today would definitely be butterfly based somehow, so I went with my largest butterfly stamp called Swallowtail.  I have stamped onto white card with versamark, sprinkled with powder and heat embossed it.  Then I used the resist technique with some sponges to colour him.  Have a look here. The inks used were Pistachio Pudding, Baked Brown Sugar and Crisp Cantaloupe and the cardstock is Pistachio Pudding and Whisper White with a little Crisp Ca...

Happy Mother's Day card

Image
Hello Everyone, In preparation for Mother's Day I've been getting a few extra cards made in advance in case Family and Friends need one at short notice.  They can pick from what I have already made, rather than me making something at the last minute. Today I've used the stamp set Blooming with Kindness for my card which has been stamped with Perfect Plum ink and then coloured in a few places with a Raspberry Ripple marker to create a two tonned effect. Take a look here. The cardstock used here is Elegant Eggplant, Raspberry Ripple, Whisper White and Brushed Gold.  I've added a couple of tiny butterflies cut with the Beautiful Wings Embosslits folder and a greeting from the retired set Wonderful Mother. Here is the finished card. So do you like this combination?  I'm quietly confident that they will like this one and if it was meant for me, I would certainly like it.  Have a great day.

Hello Baby

Image
Hi Everyone, Ah Sunday!  How is your weekend going?  Today its' a quick post as it's the weekend.  We should be making the most of it as we can't complain about the weather here.  It's been absolutely gorgeous. Today I decided to make a Baby card using some retired stock and the stamp set Six Sided Sampler which coordinates with the Hexagon punch.  The paper is from the pack called Nursery Nest and the cardstock is Baja Breeze, Pistachio Pudding and Whisper White. Here's my card. I've also used the Circle collection and Bitty Banner framelits on this card. The inks used on the Hexs are Pistachio Pudding, Smoky Slate and Baja Breeze (retired). Here's a closer look at the circular feature panel of my card. Thanks very much for calling in today.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Winter Frost Butterfly Easel Card

Image
Hello Everyone, How's your weekend going?  I've been catching up on domestic duties, but did manage to give my Beautiful Butterflies die another workout.  Here's my card. Also another Easel card, made in the same way as yesterday's card.  The greeting comes from the stamp set Blooming with Kindness and I've used the specialty Winter Frost dsp for my butterfly.  The cardstock used is Basic Black, Whisper white and Bermuda Bay.  The black on the card front has been embossed with the Fancy Fan embossing folder and the Label Framelits have been used to cut the mats for the butterfly.  The Apothecary Accent framelits have been used under the greeting. Here is a closer look at my butterfly.     I finished the centre of the butterfly off with a glimmer brad and a flower punched out of Coastal Cabana card and the Boho blossoms punch.  The next photo shows the front view of the card.       Thanks so mu...

Paper Players #192 Washi Challenge - Butterfly Easel

Image
Hello Everyone, In Australia it's ANZAC day today.  A day of rememberance for the Men and Women who served this country.  At the bottom of my post today I have a picture of our memorial.  The girls attended the Dawn service with their Grandparents and we attended the Street March and 11am memorial service.  Anna was also involved in the march as a representative of the High School and the School Band who played at the Memorial Service.  It's been a busy day, up since 4am. I'm participating in another challenge with my card today for the Paper Players . I've chosen to use the Gingham Garden Washi Tape on a Whisper White background embossed with the Stylish Stripes embossing folder to make an Easel Card with my Beautiful Butterflies die.  Here is a closer look at my layered and embossed butterfly. This is my Easel card with the embossed and washi tape background on the front and a Mother's Day greeting to support my Easel design as the anchor ...

Beautiful Butterfly For You

Image
Hello Everyone, How's your day going?  We are having amazing weather at the moment.  It's been a perfect day following on from the gorgeous weather we had for Easter.  It's carrying into ANZAC day tomorrow.  A three day week and two long weekends back to back.  No complaints here.  Tomorrow, both girls are involved in the ANZAC day celebrations representing the High School.  Karree is a student leader and will be at the Dawn Service and Anna is playing with the school band performing in the Hall after the ANZAC march mid morning. Onto today's card.  I'm using the Beautiful butterflies die and Elegant Butterfly punch for a layered look using up some more of the Winter Frost specialty paper and combined with cardstock of Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana and Whisper White. Here is my butterfly. I've used two embossing folders on this card.  The Stylish Stripes folder is used on the Coastal Cabana layer and the Decorative Dots fol...

Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge #90

Image
Hello from Downunder, It's Wednesday today which means its time for the Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge.  Here is the sketch we are playing with below. And here is my take on the sketch.  I kept with the basic layout of the sketch but changed the chevron border to an Embossed scalloped one and also changed the shape to a square card. The stamped image on my heart is from the set called So very grateful.  I've coloured it with markers and blender pens.  The embossing folders are Lacy Brocade (black) and Delicate Designs (Wisteria Wonder).  The Butterfly is from Papillon Potpourri stamp set and the greeting is from Sweet Essentials. The cardstock used is Raspberry Ripple, Whisper White, Wisteria Wonder and Basic Black.  We would love to see what you will make with the sketch this week and hope you will join us.  Don't forget to check out our Paper Craft Crew site and see what the other members of the Design Team have c...

The Little Red Dress Card

Image
Hello Everyone, How are you on this Happy Tuesday?  It was a beautiful day today and I got the children back to school and back into routine with no incidences and was able to go for a walk again this morning with a friend.  That's always a good morning.  Particularly so as I didn't sleep too well.  Gee I haven't had a nightmare like that one in a long time, so as a result, I'm a bit tired, but I still got my card made. Today I chose to use the Dress Up framelits with the Modern Medley patterned paper and a greeting from the Layered labels stamp set.  The cardstock used is Basic Black, Very Vanilla and Cherry Cobbler.  The Dress was partially embossed with the Lacy Brocade embossing folder and I added a little cardstock flower punched with the Boho Blossoms punch.  Have a closer look at the detail here. I would like a red dress for myself actually, and the matching shoes...Lol.  That's another story.  Here is the full view of ...

Another Masculine Paint Chip card

Image
Hello Everyone, How has your Easter weekend been?  Ours has been both relaxing and fun, culminating in a shopping trip today for the last day of the holidays before the girls return to School tomorrow for the start of the new term.  It was quite a productive trip as well with 5 new pairs of shoes between us plus a new jumper to be ready for the cooler weather and my eldest daughters main purchases were makeup and clothing. When we got home this afternoon I finished off this masculine birthday card using another Paint Chip (from the Hardware visit) with Rev up the Fun and Label Love stamp sets, the mini banner punch from Sale-a-bration and cardstock of Basic Black, Whisper White and Marina Mist.  I stamped the car onto Marina Mist this time and cut it out.  The greeting has been punched with the Artisan Label punch which matches the stamp set and the background has been embossed with the Arrows embossing folder.  Take a closer look. These cards are simp...

Just Add Ink 211 Challenge - Happy (Sun) Day

Image
Hello Everyone, Happy Easter, Today's card is for the Just Add Ink sketch challenge this week. Here is my take on the sketch which I've altered slightly so that it's a square card. I've used the stamp set Starburst Sayings on my card with the largest of the greetings for this Happy (Cadbury) Day plus a little butterfly from the Papillon Potpourri Stamp set.  The paper is from the Sale-a-bration Sweet Sorbet pack and I've used the Scallop Border punch and the Needlepoint embossing folder. Here's a closer look at the detail. I hope you all have a fantastic Easter Sunday.  Here's a photo of our chocolate stash.  This will take some time to get through.  Luckily my girls will pace themselves and not eat it all at once.  Normally takes a couple of months.  You savor it more a little at a time. :-)  Happy Sunday.

Make a Wish Masculine grunge card

Image
Hello Everyone, It's been a busy Easter Saturday for me and the girls.  We've been visiting my parents in Caloundra and my second youngest Sister and my 4 year old niece are also staying there for the Easter break, so it was great to catch up.  We all went out for lunch today at their local RSL club. On the way home, we also stopped to visit a dear friend who's had recent surgery, so its been a very social day.  As a consequence I've made my card in record time this afternoon.  It's another Grunge card, this time in neutral colours for a masculine look with the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and Perfect Pennants stamps and matching banner framelits.  Have a look at the closeup. I've used cardstock of Whisper White and Baked Brown Sugar here and added inks in Baked Brown Sugar, Crumb Cake and Early Espresso to the card. A little bit of ribbon across the top and some Candy Dots in Crumb Cake finish off the card.  It was really quick, I can tell you. ...

Tri-fold Angled Garden Fence for Mothers Day

Image
Hello Everyone, The card I've made today is a little more fussy and a little bit special.  I decided to bring back the old Angled Trifold or Z fold design for this card.  I knew that I wanted Wood Panelling for my garden fence, that's not an original idea.  There are heaps of cards on Pinterest combining the Wood Panel background stamps with flowers.  I've even done it myself before, but I did want to combine it with this style of card.  I must warn you that this post is also very photo heavy.  I think pictures explain better than words can, what I've done here and how I've decorated my card. Once I decided what I was doing, I also found another one similar using just butterflies by Magnolia's Place here .  I knew I would be using flowers combined with my butterflies and I had no intention of  CASE'ing her card, but I did think you would like to view it as well.   Here is a closeup of  mine. I've suspended my butterflies o...
