Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch Challenge # 125

Image
Hello Everyone, Happy New Year's Eve.   I hope you have a lovely time whatever you're doing and I hope to see lots more of you in 2015.  Let's make it the best year yet!  Today is our Wednesday Card Sketch challenge at the Paper Craft Crew .  Come and see our sketch this week, and maybe you will play along. Today I will use the Kinda Eclectic stamp set on my card combined with a greeting from the Starburst Sayings stamps.  I've used the Square framelits to cut a window out of my Crumb Cake base card and also to create a frame with the Mossy Meadow card.  The stamped piece of Pistachio Pudding is adhered to the inside of the card front.  The cardstock is Crumb Cake, Pistachio Pudding and Mossy Meadow. We hope you can join us for this week's card challenge at the Paper Craft Crew.    Don't forget to drop in and see what our other designers have shared too. Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Happy New Year, 2015....Bring it on!

Afternoon Picnic Cards

Image
Hello Everyone, Happy Tuesday to you.  It's quite a hot sticky humid day and we've been hoping for some rain to cool things off.  That hasn't eventuated yet as the storms forecast didn't come anywhere near us. I've told you how I'm on a mission to use up some retired papers from my stash (calling them Vintage, like my friend Justin does) as I've been in clean up mode.  I've actually made a couple more cards with the Afternoon Picnic designer paper pack.  These are pretty and the papers are also Vintage in style.  Come and have a look. On the first card I've used that fabulous Butterfly Thinlits die that I'm partial to.  Only days away before this particular catalogue goes live and you will be able to order your very own thru me. The cardstock used is Very Vanilla, Wisteria Wonder and Brushed gold.  I've added some extra butterflies cut with the Beautiful Wings embosslits and the tiny For You greeting on the base of the card com

Happy Birthday for a Lovely Lady + Afternoon Picnic Butterfly Card

Image
Hello Everyone, I wanted to share with you a card that I gave to my Grandmother who recently celebrated 94 years of age.  This is not a Stampin Up Card, for I new she loves flowers and that she would like this card.  In my former cardmaking life (Prior to Stampin Up!)  I made a lot of this style of dimentional layered 3D flowers. I hope she remains in good health and is able to celebrate more years with us. I've also made a card today using up some vintage designer paper called Afternoon Picnic.  I've combined it with our new beautiful Butterfly Thinlits die and the greeting comes from a set called Label Something. The cardstock is Old Olive, Wisteria Wonder and Very Vanilla.  Here's the closeup. I hope you've enjoyed seeing a couple of cards here.  Have a great day.

Cherry Cobbler Vintage products

Hello Everyone, I've made it my personal challenge to try to use up some older vintage products before the New Year.  It seems to be a good time for a cleanout and clear up some bits and pieces from my desk.  The patterned paper used here is from a vintage pack called Festival of Prints which I've used on both of the cards I'm showing you today. Both cards use a base of Very Vanilla card and are trimmed with dsp and Cherry Cobbler card.  Here's the first one. The Friendship stamp used here comes from the stamp set From my Heart.  I've teamed it with some Brushed Gold card which I've cut with the Window Collection framelits and its mounted over a Cherry Cobbler Banner.  I've also added a tiny butterfly cut from the Beautiful Wings die. Here is the second one I actually found the Greeting panel when I was on a search for something else, and decided it was time to just use it.  It uses a non SU die, but the Greeting is definitely from Sta

A Special Milestone - 100

Hello Everyone, I've been asked to make a very special Birthday card for an exceptional lady, for its not everyday someone you know turns 100.  I feel very honoured to be making this card for her.  Come and have a look at this card. The main image is from the Butterfly Basics stamp set which has been stamped onto Whisper White card cut with the Top Notes die and coloured with our Blendabilities sets, Old Olive, Wisteria Wonder and Rich Razzleberry.  The Happy Birthday comes from the Memorable Moments stamp set and the butterflies come from the Papillon Potpourri set.  Here's a closeup. The Base of my card is made with Wisteria Wonder Cardstock and I've used the Hardwood Background stamp with some Crumb Cake Card and Early Espresso Ink to make my background.  The card front is cut slightly shorter than my back, so that you can get a bit of a sneak peek to the inside.  On the front of the card I've also added some Leaves in Old Olive cut with the Little Lea

Perfect Plum Butterfly Thinlits card

Hello Everyone, How's your Boxing Day going?  Mine has been pretty relaxed, just a lasy day with not much happening and nowhere  I needed to be.  That meant that I got to play with my new Butterfly thinlits again.  Come and have a look at what I created. I've layered my butterflies here stamping the top one first on Whisper White card with the Butterfly Basics stamp set inked in Perfect Plum and cutting it out with the thinlit dies.  My larger base butterfly was cut from the Back to Black dsp.  My background shape has been cut with the Oval Accents Bigz die and embossed with the Mosaic embossing folder. The cardstock used here is Perfect Plum, Blackberry Bliss and Whisper White.   The greeting has been stamped with the birthday greeting from the set Butterfly Basics. I love these colours together.  Enjoy your Boxing Day.

Merry Christmas

Image
Hello Everyone, I wanted to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas with one last Christmas Card this year.  It is a simple one.  Sometimes simple is simply perfect. I've used the Festival of Trees stamp set along with Good Greetings (Hostess), both stamped in Bermuda Bay ink.  The card is Whisper White and Bermuda Bay with Silver glimmer star and silver ribbon. Wishing you all a joyous festive season from my home to yours.

Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch Challenge #124

Image
Hello Everyone, It's Wednesday again which means its time for another Paper Craft Crew Card challenge.  We would love you to join in this week.  Here is our sketch. I am using some Designer paper from the stack Trim the Tree and stamps Butterfly Basics & Papillon Potpourri.  Here's my take on the sketch.  Its not quite identical because I was doing this challenge from memory without computer access at the time. I'm happy with what I did in any case and I am loving these new products.  The cardstock used is Crumb Cake, Pear Pizzazz and Early Espresso with Whisper white for the banner.  I also cut a doily with the vintage Delicate doilies die out of Early Espresso.  I do like to combine some old with new sometimes. I am quite pleased with my end result.  I hope you like it too, and it provides some inspiration, along with what our other designers have shared this week.  Don't forget to check out their creations at the Paper Craft Crew . Butterfly Wishes

Hello All, How are you going?  It's been stressful in the lead up to Christmas and you could call me Sadie the cleaning lady, and that would be rather accurate.  But I did take time out briefly to play with my new Butterfly Thinlit dies and I made this card.  Come and have a look at what I did. The cardstock I used was Coastal Cabana, Basic Gray and Whisper White.  I've used the largest of the Butterfly dies to cut this one out of  Basic Gray card then I brayered a piece of vellum card with Hello Honey and Blushing Bride and adhered it to the back of the butterfly, cut it out and folded it up so it looks like its in flight.  A row of basic pearls have been used for the body.  The leaves on the background of the card were stamped from the Butterfly basics stamp set.  Here is the card. The greeting was stamped with Bermuda bay and punched out with the Decorative Label punch and the Basic Gray panel it sits on was embossed with the Fancy Fan embossing folder. I a

I love this dramatic look with the Black and the pop of pink.  What do you think?  I love this new butterflies as well. Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.

Hooray, a Butterfly Card (Sneak Peek)

Hello Everyone, I hope you've been having a wonderful weekend.   I have finally finished Christmas Cards, well at least I think I have.  We will see if I've forgotten one. I've got to play with some new Butterfly framelit dies today that came in my Catalogue preorder.  As most of you know, I'm a bit partial to butterflies and these dies are gorgeous.  I considered this my Christmas present when I bought these. The cadstock used is Coastal Cabana, Whisper White and Basic black with a little patterned paper from the Back to Black designer pack.   The Whisper White background was embossed with the Lovely Lace embossing folder.   Here's the full photo of the card, which I made as a square. The Greeting has been punched and layered with the Decorative Label punch and I finished off the card with some Basic pearls.  I think this Butterfly die is going to be a popular one. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Masculine Christmas Star card

Image
Hello Everyone, I am almost done with Christmas cards, I promise.  Just posting another one today I've finished for a male friend.  This time I've used the Confetti Star punch as a border for this Blue, White and Silver combo.  I've combined it with the Bright & Beautiful Stamp set.  Come and have a quick squiz. The Star from the Bright & Beautiful stamp set has been stamped with Smoky Slate ink and cut out with matching Star framelits and the background and base card are Whisper White and Not Quite Navy (retired colour).  I've stamped the sentiment on the liner inside the card.  Full pic of card front is below. A pearl in the star centre and some Silver ribbon finishes this card off. Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a fantastic weekend.
