Paper Craft Crew Sketch 52

Image
Hello from Downunder, How have you been this week?  The weather today is fine where I am and extremely mild for Winter.  Today is Wednesday and that means it's time for another sketch for you to play along with at the Paper Craft Crew . Pam has provided us with this wonderful sketch today here Would you like to see what I've made with it today?   I have Christmas on the brain at the moment, as July is normally when I start making Christmas Cards.  I've used Mosaic Madness set for my card with the matching Mosaic Embossing folder and some of the Festival of Prints dsp for the banners, plus the Tiny ornament punch to punch a few Glimmer ornaments.  Why did I use these products, you may be thinking?  Well, our preorder from the Holiday Catalogue with all the lovely new products starts in August in Australia, so I just don't have access to them yet. The Merry Christmas is from the set Petite Pairs which I've also mat onto some of the Glimmer p...

Create with Connie and Mary challenge 261

Image
Hello Everyone, This week there is a sketch challenge at Create with Connie and Mary I've decided to use the Open sea stamp set as I don't have enough masculine cards on hand at the moment. The base of my card is Naturals White with Midnight Muse and Smokey Slate.  I stamped and cut out an extra ship from the set and raised it on dimentionals to create a 3D effect over the base and I've used some of the Smokey Slate chevron ribbon down the border of my card.  The anchors, world and greeting were all stamped with Smokey Slate ink. You might also notice the circular piercing detail on the background too. Thanks so much for stopping by to see a masculine card with time.  Have a great day.

Loving Eastern Elegance

Image
Hi Everyone, I'm really loving the pack of designer papers called Eastern Elegance at the moment with their pretty colours of Coastal Cabana and Smokey Slate. Here is another card I've made recently with them. I've added the greeting from Chalk Talk on the bottom right hand corner of this card and left the patterned paper as the feature. If you like the look of these products and would like to place an order, please contact me at c_lindenmayer@yahoo.com.au. Have a great day.

Another card using the JAI Sketch

Image
Hello Eveyone, I really liked the Just Add Ink sketch yesterday so I made a second card using it with similar products at the same time. Here it is combining Bermuda Bay with Coastal Cabana and a little Smokey Slate cardstock. I've used Chalk Talk bundle once again plus the Hearts a Flutter framelits for the little tag at the top and the Papillon Potpourri Bitty Butterfly perched on top of it.  This one also uses the Chevron ribbon in Smokey Slate. The Happy Big Day greeting is stamped in Whisper White ink and the embossed Beatifully Baroque card is also swiped with the same ink. Have a closer look at the layered labels here. I added one of the tiny butterflies from Beautiful wings embosslits to the corner. My girls really like this card, perhaps a little more that the dramatic black one yesterday. Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you've had a great weekend.

Just Add Ink #175

Image
Hello Everyone, The challenge at Just Add Ink this week is a sketch by Mae Here is my card made with the sketch.   I've used the Chalk Talk bundle, Papillon Potpourri and Label Something stamp sets.  My Cardstock is Bermuda Bay, Basic Black and Smokey Slate.  This is also the first time I've used my Black Chevron Ribbon.  The Black background of my card was embossed with the Beautifully Barouque embossing folder and once embossed, I brushed over it with my Whisper White inkpad.  I've also used some designer paper from the pack Eastern Elegance printed in the Coastal Cabana colour, which I first cut with the framelit and then mat onto some more Bermuda Bay card. I had a lot of fun choosing the elements and colours for this card and while I was at it, I made another using this same sketch which I'll share tomorrow.  Thanks very much for stopping by. Enjoy your weekend.

Coastal Cabana Bow Card

Image
Hi Everyone, Just got home from a big day.  My youngest daughter's sports day and then both my girls had Dental checkups after school.  Man, it's going to be expensive.  So I'm saving by using paper scraps.  Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.  I found that the paper bows don't use a lot of paper and can be punched from strips or scraps of designer series paper.  I've been making a few Paper Bows recently and here is another card I finished today made from Coastal Cabana Card and the paper for the bow has come from the Eastern Elegance pack.  I topped this one with a small punched scallop circle and nested one of the In Colour Boutique details on the top.  I've added a simple tag For You under the bow.  It actually comes from the Petite Pairs Sentiments and says I'm here for you, but I only wanted the bottom half. The Whisper White layer on this card was embossed with the Fancy Fan embossing folder and I've punched...

Pretty Paper Bows

Image
Hello Everyone, After a few layered cards and Easels this week, I decided to create some simpler cards to feature the Paper Bows which are really popular at the moment. Here are a couple of cards I've made featuring them. Lets have a closer look at them. I've used the Mosaic Embossing folder, Quatrefancy Designer series papers and greeting from the Sweet Essentials set for todays cards, with a little vellum to soften the bold patterns. This card uses the Island Indigo and Pool Party combination and this one below uses a Basic Black and Whisper White combo.  I really prefer this one, as the Strawberry colour pops more against the B & W. I didn't invent the paper bow myself.  I saw a cool tutorial on it from a fellow demonstrator in the US called Penny Smiley.  I used her instructions using the Extra Large Oval punch - 4 punched ovals to create this bow. Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you are having a fantastic day.

Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge 51

Image
Greetings from Downunder, How are you all this Wednesday?  We've had a mini break from the challenge due to some of our DT members attending the Stampin Up Annual Conference in Salt Lake City.  I decided I needed to change up my usual greeting to start my Blog Post today, but you know what Wednesday means, don't you?  Yes it's time for another Sketch from the Paper Craft Crew . I've decided to use my Six-sided Sampler stamps and matching Hex punch for today's card. This card also uses Honeycomb embossing Folder on the background and Eastern Elegance Designer Series paper.  I used Hexagonals to represent the 3 flower elements on the sketch and I've added one of my favourite butterflies to the top one.  The cardstock is Smokey Slate, Whisper White and Coastal Cabana with matching Coastal Cabana ruffled stretch ribbon.  Below is Pam's lovely sketch this week. It's a Landscape design this time Here is a closer look at those punched Hex'...

Create with Connie and Mary challenge 260

Hi Everyone, There is a special double challenge at Create with Connie and Mary that I wanted to play with. It's both Colour and the sketch below CCMC260...SPECIAL 2 Week Color AND Sketch Challenge         I'm quite partial to the new In Colours and I love a shaped card too.  Today I've made an Easel Card using the Deco Label Framelits with the Mosaic Embossing Folder which I've inked on the inside with Calypso Coral Ink onto the Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock.  I'ved added a smaller panel cut with the Deco Labels from Whisper White card and embossed with Fancy Fan Embossing folder.  This is the base for my Leaves (Little leaves die) and Simply Pressed Clay flowers. Here is my card I've used Label Love stamp set and matching Artisan Label punch on the base of my card as the anchor to hold up my easel.  The card has also been decorated with some tiny butterflies cut from the Beautiful Wings embosslits.  The larger...

Freshly Made Sketches

Image
Hi Everyone, I'm playing today with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.  It's a sketch by Narelle this week and I love her layers on this one.  Here is the sketch below. Today I've used the Quatrefancy Specialty Designer Series paper for my card with the Mosaic Madness stamp set and matching punch.  The patterns and colours on these papers are quite busy & bright and I've found that they work well in strips, so I've designed a Starburst style card with the sketch. The base of the card is Island Indigo which I've teamed with Whisper White to help frame the panels and for stamping.  I've kept the rest of the card relatively simple following the sketch.  With such fun papers there was really no embellishments needed, so I've used the Bitty Banners greeting topped with a single Mosaic punch, stamped in Strawberry Slush and Island Indigo and punched with the coordinating punch and raised on dimentional foam.  Here is a closeup below. Th...

Eastern Elegance with Smokey Slate Butterfly Card

Image
Hello Everyone, I just can't get enough of the new colours at the moment and I'm also loving the Eastern Elegance designer series papers and the Deco Label Frames.  Everyone knows I love my butterflies too. Here is another card I've made combining them. I've used my Beautiful Butterflies Bigz die with my Bigshot on this card, some Simply pressed clay to create my flower centre for the butterfly and button on lower RHS.  The yellow in the Colour pallette featured in the patterned paper is called Crushed Curry and is available in Cardstock, Inkpads markers and Chevron ribbon and is a new addition to the colour family.  The simple sentiment Friend is from the stamp set Sweet Essentials which is on sale until the end of this month.  The gray strung pearls that I've used for the butterfly antenae are non SU and came from my local drapery. Want another look at my butterfly? Thanks so much for stopping by again.  See you next time. Enjoy your weekend. ...

JAI Colour Challenge #174

Image
Hello Everyone, Today's post is for the Just Add Ink Colour challenge These are some really cool colours including a couple of our new "In Colours" which I've recently been playing with, so for today's card I'm going to make an Easel card with some of the new products.  I've teamed the colours with the Deco Label Framelits to create my Easel shape and used By the Tide stamp set.  I think the colours go with a Beachy Theme. I've also just received my Ruffled stretch trim in all colours so added the Baked Brown Sugar one around the back of the Coastal Cabana layer.  This whole layer is raised on dimentionals then added to the Baked Brown Sugar largest layer.  Below is the side on view. The greeting used is from the Chalk Talk stamp set punched and layered with Circles.  The shell has also been stamped separately, hand cut and raised on dimentionals. Thanks very much for calling in to view my card today.  Make sure you jump on over to...
