Just Add Ink #175

#175 - Sketch

Hello Everyone,

The challenge at Just Add Ink this week is a sketch by Mae

Here is my card made with the sketch.

I've used the Chalk Talk bundle, Papillon Potpourri and Label Something stamp sets.  My Cardstock is Bermuda Bay, Basic Black and Smokey Slate.  This is also the first time I've used my Black Chevron Ribbon.  The Black background of my card was embossed with the Beautifully Barouque embossing folder and once embossed, I brushed over it with my Whisper White inkpad.  I've also used some designer paper from the pack Eastern Elegance printed in the Coastal Cabana colour, which I first cut with the framelit and then mat onto some more Bermuda Bay card.

I had a lot of fun choosing the elements and colours for this card and while I was at it, I made another using this same sketch which I'll share tomorrow.  Thanks very much for stopping by.

Enjoy your weekend.

  1. This is such a lovely, dramatic, colour combination Carolyn! Beautiful use of your lovely new products. Thanks for playing along with us at Just Add Ink. :)

    1. Thanks Christine, I loved putting all these elements together.

  2. Love the colour combination and that effect of the Whisper White ink rubbed over the black embossed paned. Thanks for playing with our sketch this week at Just Add Ink.

    1. Thanks very much Mae. It's a fun technique getting a little messy with the Whisper White ink and highlights the embossing.

  3. Wow Carolyn! This card is soooooo striking with all that black. Love the effect of the WW ink rubbed over your embossing - I initially thought you'd used core'dinations cardstock and then sanded it! (but then again I've got not idea about techniques!) Thanks for joining us at Just Add Ink this week!

  4. Christine said it well - Dramatic! That is a great description for this card. Like the touches of white ink over the embossed area. Vx

  5. A real eyecatcher Carolyn! Love the striking black & Bermuda combination...Very elegant! Thanks for playing at JAI.

  6. Oh what a striking colour combo you've used!!
